I was thinking about how farcry handled the CD copying problem by going so far as not playing on a machine if it had CD copying software on it or even in certain CD rom drives. Hopefully, that has been fixed because I'd be pretty pissed if I couldn't play HL2 simply cuz i had the off-brand CD rom drive.
I also understand the big problem facing PC gaming companies: piracy. I agree that copying a 50 dollar game, copying it 10 times and selling it for 5 bucks each is wrong. BUT- do we still have the right to have a backup copy of our software? if we do, then it's a catch-22, we can only make 1 copy but what prevents us from making the 10 or 20 other copies?
Gabe, any word on this very important issue? I will understand if you cannot post specifics.
