I know a question has already been asked and answered about moving steam files from one computer to another. My question is I guess somewhat different.
I have hl2 preloaded on one computer, and my brother has a computer that doesn't have hl2 preloaded. We both plan on buying hl2 over steam. Would it be possible to burn the gcf files from my steam folder to a dvd, and transfer them to his steam folder, that way saving him from having to wait to preload? We would have the same gcf files that means, and he would then buy the game over steam and activate the gcf files I gave him, if possible. So would both of our games work having the same gcf files copied from my computer?
