The guys over at CSNation, rizzuh and asspennies have posted a fantastic article that discusses a wide range of topics including the recent dramatic change of management at PlanetHalfLife, Valve's continued dedication to updating their products and the persecutions Valve gets from the community often as a result of these changes. Here's a snip:
If you would like to read the full article then you can see it here.I realize I'm coming off as an overzealous Valve fanboy, and maybe that's what I am. I never saw Steam as a bad idea (although I really dislike the idea of forcing everyone to download Condition Zero, whether they were going to buy it or not), and I didn't blame them specifically for the multiple problems encountered during Condition Zero's development (even though I think they may have ultimately made the wrong choice one too many times in changing its development team) . I don't think there's any other company that has treated its community with the relative reverence that Valve has, and I'm sure they find the vitriol they receive as bewildering as ever. I'm glad they haven't decided to cut all ties, or as many as possible, with the community—although the fact that they've been more tight-lipped than normal over the past few years may be partially attributable to their frustration with their vocal "anti-fans."
