Latest rumour was that is has exclusive HL2 stuff on it. But hell, that would be on the net within a few days anyway :)
I'm not gonna buy CZ, not interested in cs anymore.

If it was released 2 years ago then maybe I would buy it but not now. It's too outdated now and the gameplay doesn't really offer me anything new.

^^what munro said, doesn't really appeal to me either.

All that CZ is offering is nothing more than you could do at home with bots already in exsistance.... wow it keeps count of all yer head shots... for 40 bucks ill get a dry erase board.

Well I guess it's a good sign that somthing got released, go go HL2 :)

This may be a bit off topic, but what is the current best bot for counter-strike?

Im going to buy it just for something to do. Im sure it will have some interesting stuff on it that will be worth the $40

im sure it might be a bit entertaining, and maybe worth $30, so ill see if it goes down in price. and where did you hear about special HL2 content, because that certainly adds something cool to CZ. it wouldnt suprize me if valve actually did that to give us another reason to buy it.

We haven't seen new pics of CZ for about half a year, have they recreated it or imported the maps to the source engine?

No it's the same old engine.

Its suppose to have exclusive futiage for hl2.. Besides that its their 4 year old game

Powered by the Half-Life® engine, gamers will move through new and challenging single-player scenarios ranging from harsh jungle environments, artic terrains, deserts, and international city streets. In addition, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero offers a brand-new Career Mode that will take the player through progressively difficult matches alongside, and against, the Official Counter-Strike Bot. In this mode, the player will begin with limited access to A.I. teammates, items and weapons, but will earn increasingly sophisticated resources as he progresses up the ladder.

To wet the gaming fingertips of Counter-Strike fans, Valve has created 20 unique Counter-Strike: Condition Zero trading cards -- two separate sets with 10 trading cards per set. Gamers can obtain a free set of these exclusive cards and guarantee their copy of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero by paying $10 towards their purchase at these participating retailers -- EB, Gamestop, Best Buy, CompUSA, Hastings, BBY Canada, Future Shop, Multi-Micro and Amazon.com.

Sounds like they added the SP missions back in (probably just polished them up?) and decided to make some trading cards?

This was Vivendi's brilliant marketting plan?

Thats why the game has been delayed, they wanted to make TRADEING CARDS wow i wish i was smart enough to make people wait 6 more months for my game so i could make some cards :x

Wow, you guys are a funny group of people. "Yeah I'll probably buy it, it has new HL2 footage!" LOL Screw the game, I'm it it for HL2 media!!!
And no, I will not buy this game, I was hyped up about it 3 years ago, but now, it's just cs with bots. >probably be a good idea if you've never played it and you have a dial up connection. Then I would purchuse it...but those two don't apply to me

Edit: and I also like to play the occasional game of CS every now and then. But not hardcore anymore. My friend Jeff knows this kid Rob and this kid Rob has a friend that got addicted to CS and had to go into rehab because he was skipping school and playing at least 13 hours of CS a day, everyday. True story

its still the most popular multiplayer game in the world. i think it will do fine in stores, if it gets good enough ratings from reviewers, i might buy it.

anyone know where I can get some 1.6 *working* bots for cs?

Let's play a single player cs game with a 5 year old engine... OK

I think i'd die in a hole if someone asked me to play this

haha ok so I'm being a bit harsh

CZ released on March 23rd. That tells me, HL2 will be released no sooner than Summer 2004.

Wow, that's great... thanks for sharing your illogical conclusions. Really... thanks! :dozey:

meh, since im stuck on a dialup, and i already have $5 on it from a long-ass time ago, i figure i might as well get it. should provide $35 worth of enjoyment.....im getting really sick of PODbots anyway.

Wow, some prissy little kids roaming around these forums.

Doesn't seem logical for one gaming house with same publisher and such to release two games both competing for the same period slot. HL2 if release anywhere near the March 23 date will hog all the sales from CZ. So why bother wasting money releasing it? Either way, HL2 is not coming any sooner than Summer.
Whether you believe it or not...

I DARE YOU TO BUY THIS GAME ...I DARES YAH

HOLY CRAP! I can't believe some of you people would buy this piece of F#ck&ng GARBAGE. It's outdated and clearly a waste of money. The engine is ancient and the game is as stagnant as 80 Y/O chicken Soup. Not even God could breath life into this skeleton. PLEASE don't waste your money on this title. I beg you to reconsider.

It's just a bunch of bots running around while you gun down stupid terrorists. How fun can second-rate objectives and a few new guns REALLY BE? Wup dee FREAKEN DOO!! :sniper: = :x

The game is too little too late and if your too dumb to realise that I HOPE YOU DO BUY IT.

You DO know that, the CZ that will ship, isn't what you're talking about, right?
The CZ that's coming out is a single player bot match, it's not single player missions with objective oriented progression, it's just running around on the default maps fighting bots with bot teammates.

There are no new guns, no new player models or weapon models. All you get is a re-textured/worked basic set of maps.

The version of CZ which you are referring to was Ritual's work, and it's included in the "deleted scenes" extra of the game.
The only reason anyone would buy CZ is to see if the claims of how life-like and human-like the bots really are true; they've been indicated to be really good.

Nope. Not only does it look and sound like cold crap, but antiterrorist games don't really spin my wheels...

well i rekon there will be more to it then what u guys claim , for one i don't think they would wait this long to just release their peice of shit as some of u are stating.

They have obviously delayed it for a reason , when was the last media release on this btw?

They first delayed it because the gameplay was lackluster(the single-player missions just weren't cutting it). Then they delayed it again because they realized they might as well release it via Steam and rake in the profits(as well as test Steam before releasing the BIG GAME - HL2). Then they delayed it yet again, because Steam wasn't ready when CS:CZ went gold back in Nov 2003. You're looking at 2-1/2 years worth of delays there!

2 1/2 years for a second rate game... buy Call of duty if you want a true single player experience, or wait for next month's titles including Battlefield Vietnam(sure more bf1942 milking) or Soldner Secret Wars(Looking Sweet http://soldner.jowood.com/). This is a attempt to convert cs into a single player game could be fine but the timeing is ALL WRONG for allot of people... instead of making a single player experience they should have looked at rebuilding a new game like CS2 on source which we will more then likely see.

well i am still gonna play it becouse of a game cafe thats gonna have it that is near me. so hell no im not buying it

It's actually a worse game than I thought. NOW YOU KNOW IT's BAD. hahahahha  I have wiped my arse with better sharware.

Apogee RULES ...hehehehe

None the less Im sure the cs fanboys will flock to buy the title so just more sales to valve which doesnt bother me one bit.
