Counter-Strike Source does not work for me, help!

I recently reinstalled my windows xp pro completely fresh, and then installed half life 2 with CS: Source again. Now i find that whenever i try to run CS or HL2: DM, the "preparing to play..." screen comes up but then i just get a little window saying "fatal error, unable to load game window". I tried reinstalling HL2 and everything completely but still the same error.

Anyone else had this problem? Any possible solutions?

Try updating all your computers video/mb/ect drivers, then install either sp2 or directx9c. I havent seen that problem, but I am guessing it is some kind of a driver issue.
