Counter Strike Source skins

How do you install weapon skins....i can't seem to figure it out. I'd reallly appriciate some help. :thumbs:


Where do i put the downloaded skin data i have three files and they say...

P_Famas.mdl
V_Famas.mdl
W_Famas.mdl


This is driving me crazy how do i get this shit to work....!! :rolling:
 
i don't know, i would like to change my models in CS:Source too. I'll check csbanana.com cause they usually have good CS things. But they may be out of date, who knows.
 
yeah i wanna switch that up a bit CSnation has a lota skins but i dont know how to install them lol
 
cstrike/materials/models/weapons/v_models/pist_deagle/deagle_skin1.vtf

Thats where you would put it. Just replace v_models with w_models/pist_deagle/ You know what I mean?

like that right? and then you put the file in the last folder on there.....cuz i did that and it didnt work.... :frown:

Ok first of all, you need to use question marks. I see that you can use the apostrophes correctly, but your "i"s need to become "I"s. Really is really spelled like this: "really". Reallly is not a word (One L.). Also, "appriciate" is spelled "appreciate".

judgeworm, you are bound to find many who don't spell as you want them to spell.

demigodz, try going to c>programfiles>valve>steam>steamapps>youraccountname>counter-strike>cstrike>models

and just drop in the files there. if that doesn't work, you might have to create a weapons folder in that same directory. and if that doesn't work, you might have to make a weapons>famas or weapons>deagle or whatever folder, but i'm not sure since i haven't done this in a long time.

WHY DON'T YOU GIVE ME A BREAK. I'm trying my best to help you, what's your problem with it?
 
You copy the file v_famas etc. in the following:
go into cs folder, go into 'models', then 'weapons', then 'famas".
replace the existing files.

Oh, I guess all people that like decent grammar are Nazis huh? You learned this in 3rd grade, this shouldn't be hard. Why can't people just put effort into posts so they don't look like an idiot. All I am trying to do is to help him.
 
I think p_, w_ etc models are only on CS 1.6 only i believe. I think they source uses different files, so you may be trying to use 1.6 models on source. Check you've downloaded the right thing. Personally i think source isn't worth reskinning cos the games so bad, so i could be wrong. :cat:
 
I love CS:Source. Haven't touched 1.6/CZ since it came out, but then 1.6/CZ looks so bad by comparison now, I find it a distraction to play :(

Yeah people say that but source looks worse than my 1.6 because of the cs realism pack i have installed. The maps obviously dont look as good, but pretty well textured, and the player models and gun models are fantastic(animations are superb). If you want to check out the pack, download it free from here. Its sad its quite unknown.

Unless they start 74L|<IN6 Lyke Dis<----- you don't need to try and corret them, and yes you ARE being a nazi about it because these are not english forums... so if somone said something like

wat hapened to teh Hydra? Whyd it get cut?

Don't freak out!

(btw I tried to type with proper grammar in my post and it took away 10 seconds of my life as apposed to if I had typed like I always do...I want those 10 seconds back!)
 
Place the files here -

C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\<USER NAME>\counter-strike source\cstrike\models\weapons

If the weapons folder doesn't exist create one. If you don't want to use the models anymore just delete them.
 
Hah all you people are telling me the same thing and i has to be CS:S because the famas is only in source......i tried everything but still....this shit is so annoying....

The famas isnt in normal counter strike 1.6 only source? Well you woulda thought we wouldnt have missed that, considering we're such fans. Sort ya facts out mates.

As you see the skins available for source aint much anyway.
