I need some sort of project to work on so i've decided to remake all the original cs models for cs:source just for the experience. Because this is a personal project, it's gonna be normal mapped.. light mapped and the works. I understand valve likes their games to target those with lower end comps so i'm going to attempt to target those with higher end comps and make some sort of replacement pack when the mod comes out. Hopefully valve's cs models wont kick my a**.

This is the highres model so far..

It looks quite nice, his wrists seem way to wide though. Also I can't tell with the rest of the body because its a poor angle. Maybe a render as well?

That looks very good. But what about those equipment straps on his legs? I'd put a sidearm holster there, instead. And... gloves?

very nice! that is a sweet model.. are you going to animate it and all that stuff?

-merc

Very awesome! Nice change from unskinned modern weapons (no offence to anyone)

Although Ichi is right, the wrists look a little big.

Thanks for the replies.
I will indeed fix the wrists. merc - I may make a small anim or something when im done just for the sake of doing it. Yeah his legs may be a bit short sw but not all ct's are average joe ;]. As for the sidearm, I plan on making some sort of seperate generic sidearm that I will use for the majority of the ct's, and most likely another for the T's..

I will probably add that when i'm finished with the model.

Just a question when you guys say "wrists too big" or "legs too short" what are you comparing it to?

Is there a reference of the perfect human being? Because when i walk around the street i see people with short legs, or big wrists. I actually prefer human models that aren't cookie cutter super perfect humans.

Great work mate!

yea, it does look very nice. the thing i noticed straight away was the shape of his head...it seems very square at the back and kinda 'edgy'. the ripples in his sleeves and general form of his clothes is very good, you must have a good sense of form...*sigh* unlike me. other thing i noticed was his knees ( guessing those buldges at the front of his trousers are his knees ) they look a little low down, probably should be just under the little thigh-packs. plus, they are a bit knobbly for having baggy trousers. last thing was his hands, the look a bit skinny and zombieish, i think the knuckles need to be a little less obvious. most people often do that, but the skin that will make it all better :)

PS. very nice model dude, keep it up and maybe if you need a mod to work for...

Now that's what I'm talking about. Thanks a ton Tomahawk, I want the full effect! I don't want Valve to turn it into a uglyfest for low end users. You rule. :E

Is it already normal mapped? What's the polycount of the model?
If it's normal mapped already, post both models, the un normal mapped and the normal mapped, to compare the difference. Thanks.

The only thing that bugs me is his fingernails >__<. They look all long, and nasty-like :p. Other than that, it's fuggin' awesome. Great detail, dude. Keep up the good work.
