In BF1942 whenever a vehicle is near or I am in one my sound is crackily. Someone said it had somthing to do with bass so I turned it all the way down and it helped a little. I have the logitech z-640 speakers and the nvidia soundstorm onboard audio card.

its probably the sound card cause i have z 640s and ive never experienced crackling with my audigy 2 ZS sound card :)

My sound card is pretty good though, although I have a bunch of other problems with my speakers. I am having a lot of trouble setting up shit in the nforce tray. IDK wtf an analog or a digital connection is and the ****ing manual doesn't mention anything about any of the options. So I have 6 speakers, but sound only comes out of 4.

I am going to try and install drivers, but how do I delete my old drivers?

I think that I had the same problem. All i did was plug my sup woffer cord in more.

is it just bf1942 or just those frequencies similar to the vehicle sounds? it could be a faulty connection where the wire meets the plug

I had the same problems but it was solved by changing the bitrate or the quality of the sound in the BF1942 sound config menu, you tried that? just play around with the settings.

I have only heard it happen in BF1942, I have also changed the settings, everything to the highest. Anyone know wtf an LFE crossover frequency is? And what mine should be?

LFE crossover should be as low as possible, it removes the bass from the output, which isn't good. Bass is good.

Ah, LFE = Low Frequency Equalizer? Makes sense....

yep, you don't want to cut out your low frequencies. say you had a speaker setup with seperate high and low frequency speakers. that's when you'd want to cut the low frequencies from your high speakers and the high frequencies from your subs. cleans up the sound, but in a standard desktop setup your not gonna want to cut anything.

Anyone want to help me set up my speakers with the nforce panel? What options should I have turned on?

I set mine up just like yours and it still is the same....no rear sound.

Personally, I'd reset your settings. ;)
Maybe even uninstalling and reinstalling your drivers. However you wish to acomplish it.

Then you can set only the settings you really wanna change. hehe

I have reinstalled them, still the same :(

I get crackly sound in BF 1942 at some parts, and I have a soundblaster audigy 2 ZS. It only happens in BF 1942, so I think it might be the game.

I get the crackly sound as well in BF1942 and BFV, when I jump in vehicles only, weird huh?

Yah, well that is good to know my speakers aren't broken. Anyone have any help on the rear speakers not working like they should?

When I do the test tone the left speaker says left, the rear left says center, the right speaker says right, the sub woofer says rear right and nothing comes out of the rear right...wtf.

I know they are all in the correct spot, because they are color coded and the center speaker doesnt plug in with the other 4, and the center is playing out the rear left.

I had the same problem with my 5.1 headphones. Maybe the colouring is different between manufacturers or something.

Also, is it all set up for 5.1/7.1 surround sound and not vice versa or something?

I just found out it is messed up in games that I turn hardware acceleration on.

....lame...hehe are you sure? I have onboard audio so I think it might be a very long time.

How can I tell which drivers I have? My audio drivers are version 3.48, so this looks like it should do it. How do I remove my old drivers?
I am now leaving for 15 days, see ya!

blah, to install those drivers do I need to uninstall my old ones?
