The second downloadable content for Left 4 Dead - Crash Course is now available on Steam. You will get the update automatically when your Steam client is restarted.[br]

To celebrate this release, Left 4 Dead (PC) is available via Steam for 50% off its regular its regular price thru Oct 1, that's $14.99.

While containing both Survival maps and a Co-operative Campaign, the primary goal of "Crash" is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game's existing Versus campaigns. A recharge timer for infected teammates has also been added, and item spawn behavior has changed for more balanced gameplay.

Servers are too busy to handle my request and launch Left 4 Dead :( Going to make them more money now it's half price

Ha I just saw this announcement on steam and it cut off the message at "save 50% on Left 4..." and I thought it was a discount for L4D2.

All servers are raped.

I played this a few hours ago on the 360, it's good, has some nice easter eggs but could've been alot longer. It's quite a shame really.

Lol i already passed the crash course campaign on pc. Did anyone noticed that every 5 meters there was a stash of tier 2 weapons, literally?

Thank you Valve. Looking forward to giving this a go once I get it downloaded :)

"Did any notice" ...?!

Mate, the update has just been released and I'm desperately waiting for the server raping to cool down so I can update it myself...

Just played it through single player (nobody was on and I didn't want to have to deal with randoms) and it's a pretty solid campaign. Environments aren't straight generic city and are more of a cross between No Mercy and Blood Harvest. Which is not a bad thing, it ended up being pretty fresh for me. Story telling seems a little more heavy. More lines based only on the campaign than the others usually have (which is ****ing awesome), and given the dynamic dialogue there's probably even more to hear.

"Zoey, just pretend they're helicopter pilots"
"Francis, I already told you, he was a zombie!"

Also:

Francis: Ah, watch out for this steam pipe.
Zoey: And...?
Francis: Steam is alright, I guess.

The finale is pretty cool, because once you power the generator up once and deal with a couple hordes and tanks, you have to go out again and trigger it because it stopped (you don't just press use, you have to actually hold it down for a while, like a medpack). Although the end doesn't really connect to Death Toll, I don't think. Was there a really wierd truck at the start of Death Toll?

Only 2 levels? Not really a campaign.. and it doesnt really connect to death toll imo but ohwell its free :D

Yeah Crash Course is immensely fun. I think they did things to the panic events as well. I really wish they add some features in the other campaigns like this one.

Oh I forgot to mention that the Crash Course safe house has pretty much the funniest wall writing in the game.

I wish mine would hurry up and update! I was right in the middle of nav editing to.

Curse these fat internet cables!

just finished d/l had to change to india and Australia QLD but it's done :p

sweet 4.3 mb/s should be over in a minute, too bad I have to go to class D:

I've been trying to DL for the past 4 hours. I'm at 36%. Pray for me.

Really nice new campaign... Even with 2 maps it seems to be quite long. Both maps seem to be longer then the ones from past campaigns... But what's the problem with all the weapons laying around? Doens't feel much like the L4D we use to know :/

I downloaded with in 5 mins of it coming out from australians content servers, Was very fast.

Just finished.

Not that amazing and way too many secondary weapons lying around. If I had wanted to I probably could have finished the campaign with molotovs and pipe bombs.

Still it's more levels and they are biggish. Almost too biggish. Was it just me or was there a lot more open spaces then usual?

yeh thats what i said hads, tons of secondary weapons, tier 2 weapons and pipebombs.

Seems rushed too me.

Didn't think it was that great. Way too many weapons around, also the tank spawning seems a little messed up sometimes. You can get a tank right at the start of the level, before you have a chance to get upgraded weapons or molotovs.

It was alright, but I felt the last level to be annoying. You had to fight for too long before you actually reached the finale.
