Crash Desktop ...

I cant start BF2 anymore, everytime i start the game it shows a black screen for a few seconds then crash to desktop. i re-installed the game, changed the driver but it still wont work ...

help please !

i just fixed this problem myself.
I had to make sure my mobo was up-to-date. Then unistall ym graphics card drivers then reinstall them. then reinstall DX... then reinstall BF2.
Worked for me.

Same thing. Black screen and then crash to desktop. Updated Catalysts to 5.13 and reinstalled the game, but no help. Im currently trying to download DirectX 9c again, to make sure nothing's wrong with it.

mine does something similar. It'll start to load *splash screen* but I'll never leave desktop. I have to restart to get it to load. I get to open BF2 once per uptime on my computer \= Kinda weird I think.

I know that's not the fix for you guys, for I'm sure you've already tried the restart thing. Just giving my experience though

Ok, I got it working after I reinstalled the 1.12 patch manually after the Special Forces installation program. Hope this helps...

Thank you for contacting us again at Electronic Arts Technical Support. I am really sorry you are still having issues with Battlefield 2; and about my previous responses and how they have not addressed your issue. I hope you can please bear with me as we troubleshoot your issue more.

The issue being encountered may also be due to some programs running in your present Windows account, that may be conflicting with the game even when the offending program was closed. Typically, this may be resolved by manually uninstalling the and reinstalling it on a new Admin Account. Please manually uninstall the game. After which, you may then create a new Administrator account and reinstall your game under that new account.

Here are the steps on how to create a new Administrator account.

Click on the Start button.
Click on Control Panel.
Locate the small Control Panel sub-window at the top left of the window.
If it says Switch to Category View, you are in the correct viewing mode.
If it says Switch to Classic View, click on the text to switch to the correct view.
Double-click on the User Accounts icon.
Click on the Add button.
Choose a user name and password.
Make sure to give the account full Administrator abilities.

Once the account is created, you will be able to restart and log in with the new Administrator account.
