Next time you're paying 'road tax' look at the form from the DVLA and see what it says at the top.

Local roads are paid for from council tax and government funding. Trunk roads, motorways etc, they're paid for by the Highways Dept. VED is not a hypothecated tax, it just goes into the Chancellor's pocket.

Ahhh yes i forgot you regularly bike all about Canada don't you, long distance. Well you know who to ask for biking information.
If there was anything i'm trying to get across in this thread it's show consideration for all vehicles, because road rage is ridiculous. I told my driving instructor the story today and he told me one he saw.

Some guy cuts him up by cutting right in front of him when over taking him, but he bit his lip. The crazy guy does the same thing to the car in front, but the driver in front honks his horn as loud as possible at the nutter as he speeds ahead. Further down the road, my driving instructor and guy in front are both sitting at traffic lights with the crazy guy in the lane to their right. He get out his car and walks up to the guy who honked him and asked why he did it. "You cut me up you prick" And the crazy guy said to him "This is being cut up", and he pulled a knife on the guy and slashed his face. So let it go, if my driving instructor had hooted he could have been hurt and he's an old bloke. Take it easy on the road.
