crazy speakers!

ok, heres whats wrong. ive got logitech speakers, im not sure on the model or what ever but its got 4 small ones all plugged into a bass. anyway, this bass has two wires running from it to the soundcard. now my soundcard is probably one of the oldest, i didnt bother upgrading it wen i got a new computer, i think its a SoundBlaster 4.1 or something. Now my speakers used to all work fine, until one day only the front two speakers worked, and now the sound is really quiet, as in i have to turn the volume up to max jsut to get a reasonable volume.
ive tried rolling back the drivers, downloading new drivers, checking everythings plugged in correctly, but nothing is working. any ideas anyone?

o, that could be embarassing, how do i do that?

Start --> control panel ---> sound and audio devices ---> advanced in device volume.

If that didn't work try testing out your speakers by plugging them into another source, like a portable CD player.
