Thanks for the tutorial but whats the diffrence between using steam and the update tool?

With the update tool you don't even have to install all of steam content onto your server machine. Just the files needed to run a server.

I have found that when using steam it is a little more difficult to change start up settings.

With the method in my tutorial you will have a nice simple shortcut that will start your server with just one double click of the mouse.

To change your startup map you just edit your autoexec.cfg file to the map you want.

I consider the update tool the advanced way of running a server.
