Creationist "museum": Dinosaurs and humans coexisted

here's the dinosaur/human "authority" Kent Hovind discussing dinosaurs in the bible (warning may cause sudden urge to punch first creationist you see)

kill it with fire, it's the only way to be sure
Yea well, he got his....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_Hovind

"On November 2, 2006, Hovind was found guilty by a jury in a Pensacola, Florida federal court of fifty-eight federal tax and tax-related offenses; his wife, Jo, was also convicted on 44 counts. Hovind is currently being held by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office awaiting sentencing on January 19, 2007. He has been ordered to forfeit $430,400 and faces a maximum of 288 years in prison."

Here is another in depth interview featuring the one and only Kevin Hovind

Perhaps there truly is a god...

Hahahaha... nah.

Anyway, Stig, get your degenerate ass on xfire! @_@

I was going to write a rebuttal to that Kent Hovind chap, but there's no point. Evolution is particularly self-evident whereas with each scientific step forward, creationism seems on increasingly shakey ground and their counter-arguments seem increasingly desperate.

That creationism (and let's not pussyfoot around with the "intelligent design" euphemism) is being taught to children as fact is an utter disgrace.

In the last few years, I've gone from being agnostic to full-blown atheist but I've always tried to keep my self from being anti-theist and anti-religious, but honestly they sure make it difficult.

It totally freeks me out there's dickwhistles out there that actually believe creationism.

yes

Politics is the process by which groups make decisions. Although the term is generally applied to behavior within governments, politics is observed in all human (and many non-human) group interactions, including corporate, academic, and religious institutions.

wtf guys, dont you know about Dinotopia!? Dont believe me... here is SOLID PROOF OF HUMAN AND DINOSAUR CO-EXISTANCE!!!

http://www.scifidimensions.com/May02/dinotopia.jpg

Eat that creationalist bashers... that picture is 100% real and un-edited.

Edit: On a side note, that guy in the video said National Pronographic... lolz

I think the thought of dinosaurs and humans coexisting is more realistic then how humans coexist these days. This thread for example. Pissing all these people and their beliefs.

you're kidding right? when they start presenting rediculous stories as fact they're asking to be challenged; it's a museum ..now if they had some sort of disclaimer that said "nothing in this museum is based on fact, please leave your common sense at the door, thanks for coming" ..then I can see how you have a point ..but they're not so they're open to redicule ..as they should be ..we made fun of the Flat Earth society, I dont see why these people are any different

You know, that Hovind video has been on my mind all day. He's just such an ignorant prick, I can't believe anybody regardless of whether they agree with him or not, can sit and listen to him for hours on end without getting the impulse to just whale on him.

I really hope he goes to prison for tax evasion.

You have this inane idea that retarded beliefs need to be respected. Human progress requires us to dispense with that kind of crap.

If you want to believe that crazy moon gods made the earth only a few thousand years ago, then go ahead. But when you start masquerading that kind of deceitful lunacy as something educational, your stupid ass needs to be called on it. Preferably ripped to shreds so that no being with an ounce of intellect will ever step near your zone of idiocy.

But oh no, politically correct America doesn't like others having their feathers ruffled, no matter how batshit insane they are.

No, I just chose not to waste my time pissing all over them. Am, I bashing queers and their practices?
*EDIT* No. They're people all the same. I respect them, to make their own decission, thought I found them bizare, as such similary you find the above said beliefs. Fair enough?

yes but they cant help being what they are ...these people choose to be ignorant

Perhaps they *dino-human relations* are genetically misfortunate as well.

well I dont believe people are born ignorant ..it's a learned condition :E

Last I checked, homosexuality isn't something contaminating school systems and educational constructs.

When your religious bullshit starts bleeding into those sectors, being nice and tolerant isn't an option. Nobody abolished racism, debunked astrology, or whittled out the most repugnant aspects of fundamentalist faith by accepting stupidity as valid.

I have no issue with people believing in a higher being/or entity behind creation (the gift of life is a pretty remarkable thing given just how much of the universe isn't alive), but to be so dogmatic as to interpret the Old testament literally (which was mainly ripped from older mythic books tbh) and fly in the face of all the scientific data we have today is frankly absurb. To then package these beliefs and present them to the public in the form of an educational Museum is exceedingly dangerous.

Indeed. Such actions are just below the Wikipedia Ignore All Rules-rule.

Good point, but:

but to be so dogmatic as to interpret the Old testament literally
Didn't Mecha already determine that to interpret the Bible in any way other than literally is a sin and sends you to Hell?

Well, at the very least, your chances of getting into heaven are far better if you treat it literally. That is if you follow the Bible's own internal logic.

Heh, never thought the Pope, and every priest/monk would be going to hell.

Don't worry, they're subtly killing millions, so they're in God's favour.

Given the bible was written by man, not God, and man has a tendency to rewrite a story to suit his needs at the time I think I'll take my chances on that. Plus the lifting of whole sections of the Persian myths tends makes me somewhat skeptical as to it's validity.

Book: Misquoting Jesus - The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why.

Worth checking out. ;)

Let's not stop at the PErsian myths. Hell it borrows from all over the place.

Yes I'm aware of the irony of saying "Hell" in an essentially blasphemous sentence where I decry a holy scripture as nonsense.

debunked astrology
Did you know that in India, you can get degrees in astrology? Or that some recent legislation classifies astrology as a science? Or that some university here wants to spend money on an astrology lab to observe starcharts and some sh*t like that, so that some lazy "researchers" can make a living doing nothing? I just hope that this is an unpopular school of thought overall. :|

If it isn't, God(!) bless India...
