And if you bought one you should be ashamed

I've had my Zen for a week and it's already broken, gg Creative, my iPod is 2 years old and being held together with electrical tape and the plastic cover is cracking, but that mother****er still plays music.

o man my one creative product crapped out on me, i'ma go make a thread on hl2.net saying all creative products are shit

My Creative MP3 player is after four years still fine.

I have a Zen Touch at the moment, and it's still going strong after...oh, about 4 years?

I had my zen micro for 2 years, it broke I sent it back got it repaired for free and it lasted another 9 months or so.

Fine, I change my vote to "The Creative Zen sucks (the small one)"

This, right here

I dropped my old iPod Mini on a granite floor from a good distance, whilst on. The metal casing was dented, but that little motherfucker was still merrily playing.

Agreed, my Zen nomad broke after 15 days. I now have a new ipod nano and I love it.

Maybe you just put too much shitty music on it.

lullzz

No, more like I accidentally left it out in the sun during the day and when I turned it on it said, "Dangerous overheating!" and never worked again.

The second nomad I bought stopped working after a few days when it suddenly decided to reformat itself and windows refused to recognize it.

Zen Touch still going strong after nearly 5 years of daily use.

I have a creative sound card from 1998-1999 that's still going strong for me.

I've had a creative thought in my head and it still is going strong.

I got a Creative MP3 player a couple years ago. It kills batteries even when off. But it works just like it did when I got it. Only reason I got it was because it was about $30

but yeah, I hate Creative

My zen broke after almost 2 years of regular use. Now I own an Ipod Classic and am very much happy with it.

My Zen Touch is still working great after 4 years and countless drops, and it don't need no shitarse electrical tape neither. At the time of purchase it was way cheaper and (according to reviews) had better sound quality than the equivalent iPod. 40Gb of space and 20-ish hours of battery life that's been sitting reliably in my pocket for nearly half a decade now. So:

No.

Firmware support from Creative, however, does suck arse.

Agreed, i tried to install some firmware and it broke my Zen Touch for a good few days.

That and the fact that it isn't compatible with Windows Media Player 11 didn't help either. I ended up just uninstalling the Creative media player thing. Worked well since then.

My Vision M lasted a while before the battery got borked. Still kept on going until the end though.

My Zen Vision M was bought in 2005 and still works like the day I got it.

I have a zen v plus which is the replacement of one that broke last summer, the only major gripe i have with it is that the screen scratches so easily. Looked into getting a case style thing but didn't see any good ones so just resorted to keeping it in a separate pocket to my keys

Had a Zen Micro for 2 years then the headphone socket broke. Sent it in, got it fixed for a tenner or something and it broke again after about 6 weeks. So I got a Zen Vision: M and it broke after about a year irreparably. Got a second hand iPod and was pleasantly surprised (never liked iPods before) but the screen broke (my fault - wrestling) so now I'm saving for a new iPod.

Got a Zen Stone Plus (2GB) here, very happy with it. I use the armband strap for ease of use. I bought it about 6 months ago, still going strong. The OLEDs are also very luminescent in the dark.

Good thing my Zen Vision W is almost 2 years old and still going perfectly strong.

Correction - Sony Erricsson Phones Suck!

Unoriginal MP3 players rule!

I have a 4gb zune, and it took me 3 months to finally get the bastard to work... But once it worked it is still the best toy I've ever gotten. Does every damn thing. radio, videos, podcasts, pictures, (I put hl2 screenies on it) you can put a movie on it if it's in the right format, and still have 300 songs, with nothing else it holds about 700 songs, and the format is simple to figure out. The only problem is that Zune's software for the computer has the same mental capacity as a rock.

And, all i had to do to get it to work is reinstall windows, not that big of a deal, but i'm glad I didn't beat the shit out of it like i wanted to.

I think microsoft just needs to catch up a little bit with Apple, and it won't take much for the zune to beat even the iPhone. I can just see it now... The ZunePhone... What a piece of shit that'll be... Then 3 months later it will begin to be awesome. but ONLY 3 months later.

The moral of this story?

buy an iPod.

I dropped my iPod down the back of a couch for about a year and that mother****er didn't take it personal or nothin. Two massive scratches across the front and the screen's pretty dented up. Still plays fine.

Formatted the Zen, seems to be working fine now, don't know for how long though

Anyone who owns a portable .mp3 player is a piece of shit.

I've got an oldschool black and white Creative Zen Xtra that I burnt the drive out on, but just threw a 80gb laptop hard drive in there and it's still going strong after about 4 years or more.

and for extended battery life, just hook it up to a backpack with a car battery in it.

I would do this.

CZen makes me cry. I had one and the audio kept cutting out.

I've dropped my iPod lots accidentally onto the concrete street, and it barely has a scratch.
Leather cases and iPod Nanos work like a charm.

My Zen stone plus has been dropped, smashed, run over (car), and dunked in water numerous times, and still plays like new. Even looks like new, too. One small scratch on the back. You're just a creative noob.
