Mmm, looks damn impressive if you ask me.

I pretty much finished Crysis (at the LAST part), and I gotta say I absolutely loved it. Probably one of my favourite PC FPS games.

The tech is undoubtedly amazing, I just wish someone would justify it by creating a game that really uses it properly. For example if you can make these huge impressive environments, why not make a game that genuinely rewards exploration of them?

Crysis was gorgeous and chopping down palm trees was great fun, but the actual structure of the game was almost identical to the first Halo, (although the zero G sequence referencing Decent did make me smile). The early levels you could play using stealth and complete without being detected, but the whole second half was basically just using two guns to kill the same two flying enemies over and over again.

That engine trailer shows some unique stuff though, so I am certainly interested to see where developers take it.

Crysis was one sexy game.

Gameplay was horrid though.

Unless they actually really change the gameplay for crysis 2, this is going to be a rental for me. And I'm not upgrading my pc just for this so i'll rent it for ps3.

Probably one of the worst endings in video game history.

No, its bad. Real bad. Being a cliffhanger doesnt really matter. Not that its much of a cliffhanger, because I couldnt have given a shit that it was over, or that the story was going to continue in another game. I dont even remember anything about the "story" because it sucked as well.

I just remember the ending to be insanely cheesy and why would they jump perspectives right there? Useless and stupid.

I remember they give you a nuclear rocket launcher and tell you "USE THIS AGIANST THE ALIENS" even though nukes used against them just made them stronger (for no reason other than because "They want us to fire nukes at them." and then a giant alien thing attacks so I'm like "I think I'd better use that huge ****ing rocket launcher now," only to find that I'm not allowed fire it for no apparant reason and have to kill it with my other guns.

Then a bigger alien thing appeared and was much easier to destroy because this time I was allowed to use my BFG to shoot the large glowing weakpoints labeled "SHOOT ME HERE."

It was a rather underwhelming ending.

Wtf is it with Crytek and tropical islands? Make some more varied locales and others might use your engine.

I liked the first game and its expansion pack in terms of visuals, story and presentation.
The gameplay was very average though. I have never been optimistic about multi platform games.
I expect the PC version to be gimped in more than one way.

For me, I really enjoyed the visuals and gameplay, whereas I found the story and presentation were lacking.

I really think the gameplay in Crysis is great, not so much for multiplayer, but for singleplayer it's very fun.

The newest video showed a fair amount of variance, and as Dinnesch pointed out, Crytek's previous games have contained variations to the tropical theme as well.

Wut?

The story was awful.

Though I agree the gameplay was pretty bland too. Nanosuit made the game trivial. The only hard parts on toughest difficulty were enforced vehicle sections.
