Crysis Level Editor.

Cool, thanks.

I'll fraps some stuff I'm up to once fraps stops doin' it wrong...dunno what's up with it, but the toolbar section in the video ends up with the Project Reality background in it, which wasn't even running.

EDIT: On this "try everything" map, when I mess with the texutre layer painter thing I run into a problem.

My first texture was a wet beach texture that I applied to any part of the local landmass touching water. The second is supposed to be a "cliff face" texture, but when I make it using the "Texture" option, and pick the two (why two again?) textures, it always paints the wet beach no matter what I select on that list.

I tried to make a flyover video using capture frames, and it's stuck at full resolution at 15GB because premiere doesn't work in 64bit vista. :(

Your texture problem is that you haven't assigned the "Surface Type" correctly. This is under the Terrain Layers window.

ugh, that sounds like too much work...

Thanks.

I'll have to mess with FRAPS more, as my 1:09 long video was more than 4gb for some reason.

Very nice level. I can see you really went to town with the Voxel objects in that cave, eh?

...to be honest, if I hear that song ONE more time, I'm going to go mad.

The song is a classic.

Man... what the hell. I keep getting all these funky strange graphic glitches in crysis and I'm not sure why. It's like, all sorts of strange screen tearing and black polygons. I have an x1950 pro 512mb

Maybe this will help me. http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=30533

EDIT: Okay that worked. Woot. My god, I only watched the conversation scene before the jump at the very beginning, and it's gorgeous! I stopped for the moment and will continue in a bit.

The damn road tool is insane. It keeps going in 3d, so roads that are suppsoed to go in a line and then curve make soem funky U shape then go off the ground. Need to keep working on that.

You need to use the Snap to Terrain option. Its right next to the X Y Z XY buttons in the top area.

You need to select this before you start making your road.

Ah! For some reason it deselected itself as I was using that for treeage earlier.

It will automatically select the axis you use while manipulating objects. I hope they change that, or have keys you can push to change it while using the mouse for other things.

Some screenies of my single player map on my new rig :D

I've started on a canyon river rapids style map. I tend to make more non-serious maps and stuff just to dick around in. I'll have some screens up later :).

This damn layer painter still confuses the shit out of me. I'm trying to make a decent looking beach, I choose a beach material and yadda, I add a "sand" texture in the main window, but it won't pain when I try. I also just did export to engine (what does this do anyway?) and all the layers just disappeared.

Would anybody know why I can't enter game mode when I press ctrl + g in my sandbox editor? The mouse cursor goes away and I see everything animated, but I just don't move.

EDIT: Nevermind, got that to work. Now my damn sand layers I painted on the beach go away when I save and reload the map, but they come back as soon as I begin to paint them again. This is frustrating.
