You forgot "No, but it will be by the time it comes out".

Yup, thats why you should post it and tell us about your upcoming system =)

As it's looking now, I plan on getting this.

ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe
Intel E6600
OCZ 2gb pc6400
PoV 7900gt
SB X-fi eXtreme music
Antec Sonata 2 Lifestyle
Tuniq Tower cpu cooler
2x WD 320gb SATA2 16mb (already bought those)

The rest I have is already perfect (speakers, mouse(pad), monitor).

I should have a new machine by then but I can play on min settings according to those speculative specs.

3.2Ghz P4, 6600GT, 1GB RAM, so I barely make minimum specs.

yeah I ll play it on high settings, but I prefer DX10 settings,

sO I need:

new CPU/dUAL
2GB of memory so in total I ll have 4GB
two DX10 cards
and new widescreen LCD minitor.

Please god, let that be sarcasm.

Ouch. Just ouch.

Thank god I'm upgrading soon else I won't be able to play it at all on current spec :(

My PC used to be a real powerhouse, but sadly age has taken its toll. Now it'll only be able to run it on minimum settings - but do I care? I won't even be buying crysis on the PC. I have a 360 <3

I got a E6600, 2gb mem and a 7900GT waiting for me so i guess that qualify me as running on high settings. WOOT.

Those are some pretty hefty minimum requirements! :O

I won't be playing Crysis anytime soon...

I will meet recommend requirements by this fall.

where's the "medium settings" option?

I think that the specs being as high as they are could hurt crysis sales ..wont be able to hide shoddy gameplay with awesome graphics on low settings, but that remains to be seen

Won't be able to hide shoddy gameplay with awesome graphics on high settings, either. :p

I'd say more like medium, with a frame rate that jumps up and down more often than a kangeroo ;)

no, but you'll be too busy saying "ooooh and ahhhh" to notice ..till it dawns on you somewhere around when the monsters start showing up that the game is mostly a tech demo made to sell the engine which will in turn forces you to hop on the "I hate cyrsis" bandwagon that'll inevitably trump the "I hate Far Cry" craze of 2004

hehe just think of yourself as the bandwagon founder ;)

Should be after I upgrade everything on my machine, which is starting to look like:

E6700 Intel Core 2 Duo
Nforce 5 SLI mobo
2GB Corsair XMS2 PC2-8500
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA HDD
Western Digital Raptor 150GB SATA HDD (specifically for games)
X-Fi Xtreme Music (already have it)
OCZ GamerXStream 700W Power supply
DX10 card (x2)

If that can't run Crysis at a fairly good framerate at 1280x1024 (my monitor's native resolution), then I don't know what can.

I'll need a new GPU (or two!) and another gig of RAM and I should be set.

Of course, we'll see if that happens what with the Wii and plenty of games for it and the DS coming out before then too...

Do you guys think i'll be able to run it on low with these?:

pentium M 2.13 Ghz
1.5 Ghz Ram
x600 128mb

my spec is similar to yours, but with 2GB more memory and WideScreen,

My advice is don't buy anything right now/or upgrade, wait for Vista first

Yes. I'll be able to play on high settings

I'll be upgrading my computer after it comes out. I like to play games before I upgrade to compare it to how it plays after my upgrade, just so I can appreciate all the stuff I bought.

I will be getting a new mobo, a new dualcore processor, 2 more GB ram and a DX10 video card.

I think I'll need to get a new hobby after I finish playing HL2: Ep 3. :(

Does anyone know if they are going to release a demo?

I meet the minimum except for my processor (AMD 2000+)

holy hell, I don't think I won't be able to play this game even if I upgrade my comp.

I'm planning to get 7800GS, you guys think it will able to handle it?

Yes, but I would go for the straight 7800GT.

I think I'm gonna upgrade the PSU, RAM, and HDDs right now, and wait for the quad core Intel chips to come out at the end of the year to get a new CPU and mobo.

I wish I knew how the DX10 cards are gonna stack up

By the end of August, I'll be able to play it very smoothly on mostly-low/a-little-medium settings.

AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ (2.6GHz)
2GB OCZ DDR2-800 PC2-6400
EVGA Geforce 7600GT 256MB 580/1500MHz (really the only bottleneck)

And by Christmas/Vista's release, I'll be able to afford to swap out the 7600 with a high-end DX10 card.

For right now I'm not too sure. I'll likely upgrade by the time DirectX10 arrives and Crysis as well.

The only thing I really need to upgrade is my processor (AMD Athlon 64 4000+). I'm looking to get an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and maybe another gig or so of RAM (2 gigs now).

Just don't upgrade the CPU quite yet, the prices will come down even more come winter. The current prices are only for July 24th through October.

Of course. What's the rush? :p

I hope a X2 3800+, 1 gig of RAM and a X1800XL will do it with medium-high settings, or even high - we don't know what how to interpret Crytek's "recommended" requirements. Maybe those requirements enable you to play Crysis in ultra detail with framerates not dropping below 50 :p
