but also because it feels like Crytek openly borrowed a page or two from director Michael Bay.
Really now.
I'm actually interested. Yes, I was kind of disappointed with Crysis, but this might be better.
What's the DRM situation with Warhead?
Why, it's EA's new DRM goldenboy, Securom.

Annnnnnd............ they just lost a sale.
what a lame excuse not to buy it.
Surely if it's on Steam the Securom issues are bypassed?
what a lame excuse not to buy it.
Does it have a limit though?
True thatactually i was disappointed that warhead has more frequent action. i think crysis had a good ratio of action to calm.
Is it a lame excuse though? I'm someone who frequently re-formats his computer and works from several machines. By withholding my wallet I'm protesting a system of DRM that hurts legitimate consumers such as myself. It's better than pirating it (from an ethical standpoint). So I ask you, good sir, my Unzero of the .net forums from which I so frequently visit -- how is my decision lame?
Plus DRMs aren't meant to be permanent. After 6-12 months they are usually removed as was the case with Bioshock.
No guarantee of that though and knowing EA I would not be surprised if they never removed it.
Too lazy for two pages? Oh well, here it is:Does the review mention anything about the optimization? I'm too lazy to read it all, but that's my main interest in Warhead.
Very good news for me, since that's the resolution I use. I hate it when people boast about great performance in a game, making me feel confident, only to find the only reason for that was that they were using a far lower resolution.I played Warhead on a high-end machine with a quad core CPU and the latest Nvidia graphics card at high resolution (1680x1050) with all the details set to Enthusiast, which is essentially very high. It looked cutting edge and the frame rate was solid. Next, I checked the game on a slightly older PC with a two-year old 8800GTS and I was still able to crank it to Enthusiast settings and the same resolution and get solid results. Finally, I checked it out on the "$700 PC" that Crytek and EA have been touting. It really is a $700 machine built on the latest mainstream parts (the video card is a 9800GT), and I was able to play the final boss battle at the same resolution and at Enthusiast settings and get solid frame rates. I also tried it the Gamer setting, which is essentially high, and the frame rate was buttery smooth. You do lose some visual quality stepping down from Enthusiast, but even at Gamer Warhead still looks better than almost every game out there.
