We hope we aren't disappointing anyone, but contrary to any rumours that may be in circulation, neither Crytek nor any third parties are currently engaged in developing Crysis for console platforms. Our company's sole focus at this time is to complete Crysis for PC as well and as quickly as possible, so we can release it in a timely fashion to all who have shown such a strong interest in playing our game, while insuring we meet the high quality of game play they have come to expect.

Tbh, I'm glad. I own a 360, but I wouldn't want Crysis to get consolized. I've played Far Cry: Instincts, and while it was a fun FPS, it's absolute shit compared to its PC counterpart.

How about me? Im fairly interested, but i dont know much about it besides what I saw in some of the recent videos. It had good graphics, a cool suit that lets you jump on roofs, and physics. Enough for me to play it, but not buy it. Can you convince me to buy it?

I'm with this guy. I'm convinced enough to give it a try, but i'm not planning on buying it.

I bought Far Cry after playing the demo, but Far Cry sucked balls.

On the contrary, if they can produce it with the 360 im pretty sure sales will be similar or more for the 360. Why? hardware. It looks amazing, yeah. But think, 'will my PC run it properly?'. PC's require upgrades to make the game look amazing. Putting it on a platform that will run and look just as good as on the PC (as i find some games LOOK better on the 360) for EVERY 360 owner, will mean you open more variation on potential consumers.

PC = high sales. PC + 360 = mega sales. But like they say though, maybe they dont want to compromise this excellent game by spending less time on development on the PC because they have to develop the 360 version aswell, like some other games out there. Cant think of any games specifically, but ive certainly been pissed off when release dates for the PC have been set back so that the 360 version can be released aswell (often before the PC version, even though it was originally designed for the PC).

Farcry was awesome up until the point the Trigens appeared. Then it just became another typical FPS, and not a particularly good one at that.

I'm sorry, but if you think the game would look just as good on an XBox 360 as it will on the latest and greatest PC with a Direct3D 10 graphics card you're deluding yourself. The FSAA & AF would have to be limited on an XBox 360, probably to a pretty low sample rate (if any). That goes for other games too. The XBox 360 is already becoming "old tech" as you'd expect. Technology moves fast these days. I ain't bashing the XBox 360 since it's game's that count right? But it's a fact of the technological industry that top of the range hardware doesn't stay top of the range for long. This applies to PC's as well obviously, but with PC's you have a bit of leeway usually since you can upgrade individual components accross the life-span of a generation. Most "hardcore" PC gamers, as you'd imagine, will almost certainly be upgrading to a Direct3D 10 level at some point in 2007.
