Zips from CS-Nation visited Valve last week and came back to tell us the story. This four page article details some of the facts and insights gathered from his recent trip to Valve Software.
HDR in the original Half-Life 2 (PC) - There was nothing concrete stated about the possibility of seeing the old Half-Life 2 maps updated with HDR effects. However, it could just be a ?matter of time? before the maps are released for the PC version. Due to the programming similarities between the PC and 360 versions, it would actually be relatively easy to bring the 360?s HDR maps to the PC environment.

I have to say this is a great read, and you MUST READ IT.

Yeah, i love the "cut the bullshit" approach. He just laid it all out, which was nice. Great read.

Good read, nice to see that Valve won't give a date for Episode 3 until they are certain, would be nice to finally have a game that isn't delayed. :p

He did a damn good job. Answered the questions I wanted to get answered with plenty 'o' detail...

...Still wondering what happened to my invite. *Looks at Doug*

Love the ammount of food!

Nice to see they love TF2...

Some interesting questions from Zips, I would never remember to ask. This guy keeps a lot of records.

And a fine job getting all that info short-answered-to-the-point. :)

Awesome.

No news on day of defeat:source. Why do you neglect that game so much valve? Why do you insist on making me cry at night like a little bitch.

I was able to view a few of the cobbles they have set up at the offices. The multiplayer cobble was a rather large room, no barriers or anything set up between stations. From an outsider’s perspective, it really seems as though this is how things should be done within a development company. A lot of information flowing from all areas, and your co-workers within view at all times should you need assistance or if you just want to show them something amazing you just created.
Cabals?

Who's that guy who just recently made a HL2 logo out of steel? Because those are his TF weapons on the wall there.

Arrrrg! Thanks for that, I knew it looked odd when I first wrote it, but I completely let it slip my mind to edit it later. Should be fixed now, thanks.

Cool, did anyone notice the unfinished Gordon model? Wonder why they would want to make one...

I can't go on cs-nation it is telling me the site is down.

Holy **** those MIG welds on the TF2 weapons suck! They didn't even wire brush the scorch marks neither. Look like boogers or something. It's all tacked up too. :x Great article(s) though!

When you see them though, you can really appreciate the time that went into them. Especially since the creator spent his own time and money to make them and ship them to Valve. The shipping costs alone, well... you can just imagine what it was.

Plus they're so much fun to hold.
