Here's the latest press release from Doug Lombardi (released yesterday):
Bellevue, WA - September 27, 2005 - Valve Corporation today announced that Counter-StrikeTM: SourceTM and the Half-Life(R) 1: Anthology are available now at retail outlets in North America.[br]In addition to the latest version of the world's number 1 online action game, Counter-Strike: Source also includes Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Day of Defeat®: Source, the latest version of the popular WWII online action game from Valve. Meanwhile, the Half-Life 1: Anthology includes the original game, which earned over 50 game of the year awards and launched a franchise with over 15 million retail units sold, plus Half-Life: Opposing Force®, Half-Life: Blueshift®, and Team Fortress® Classic. Both products will ship to territories worldwide in the coming weeks.[br]For more information, please visit: www.valvesoftware.com.

So the HL1: Anthology is just the HL generation pack?

Tee hee hee
Fixed ;)

I only quoted what the press release said :)

Milking the cow it seems :)

Glad i've only bought half-life, grants access to all the content in their collection - but of course, if the ordinary customer doesn't know, no reason to tell him ;)

... And get your asses done with Lost Coast already :\ Bought DoD:S to see HDR (I know... you launched it first on purpose) and i never liked the game :( Give me candy, now!

They exist because of the switch from VU to EA. VU stopped making them a month ago.

Sounds like HL2:Silver w/o the HL1 mods (only the expansion packs).

So how are these people meant to buy HL2? Does this mean they can play HL2DM and CSS mods, but not Half Life 2 mods?

Nice box

They will be able to play HL2 mods if they own HL2.

Lol on their site it says goto where you are for more info, any got a pic of the backcover?

Well, well, VALVe turned into corporation...

My God, Half-Life will be the only game to never reach Abandonware status.

Is HL:Antohology the high definition version of those games?

If so I might buy it. I can't see it costing more than 30 bucks.

I've just installed the HL Anthology and it doesn't appear to have included the High definition pack.
