Hmm, no word on the HL2 preload.... but lots of tweaks to the credit card purchase part of Steam. So it appears Steam was not ready!

It would be nice if they released that tonight also. The update isn't that large, it took me very little time to download, so I'm hoping they still have room for the preload...

Just get your friend to burn the half-life2 GCF file to a cd, and place it in your steamapps folder.
