CS: Source Beta

I was wondering if you could buy CS: CZ after the beta is released and still get it? Or do you have to have CS: CZ before the Beta is released to get the beta. Also, when can we see the start for the beta? :naughty:

It's been said that CS Source will be added to the 'Games' section of steam to *all* CS:CZ owners. It doesn't say whether you have to already own it, but I doubt it.

think about it... they aren't going to make you have the game installed before the beta is released, because you could own CZ now and not have it installed yet, the beta comes out, 5 mins after it is released you install CZ and it won't let you join the beta because you installed CZ after the beta was released.

My only problem with CS:S Beta is that they are giving it to the people that bought CS:CZ. What about all us poor shmoes who pre ordered the game, or bought video cards that came with the game. I'm sure they are doing this just to sell a couple of more copiesof CZ but I feel a little cheated.

Well, I have the Half Life 2 coupon, and have subsequently bought CS:CZ because I want to play CS:S as soon as possible, but I'm a HL whore... I'd say either pay the few dollars/pounds/euro's it'll cost you for a CZ key on ebay, or stop moaning, because moaning wont change the fact that no one without CS:CZ will be playing it legally... I know, I moaned!

Of course you can buy it after, this is obviously a marketing ploy that many people will fall for. Valve would have given out CS:S beta free to everyone but were disapionted with CZ sales so pulled this ploy. It's stupid and someone will hack it anyway and valve won't gain anything because its free off the net.

it's a shame people are so drawn to steal something they could just spend $15 to get. But pride says if they bashed CS:CZ then, they won't get it now and would rather stoop to steal the content we CS:CZ owners get as perks. Think about how pathetic this is and call me in the morning.

hey deadly next time try to use the search button plz, i basically answered this question a couple nights ago when i e-mailed gabe. heres the link to my post http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27618. CZ must be installed before the beta is released if u want to participate.

that wasnt my question. im not a dumbass i know you have to have is installed. my question was whether or not you had to have the game before a certain date to download the beta.

Greg Coomer, product designer at Valve, has just confirmed on our forums that all ATi voucher holders will also be included in the upcoming Counter-Strike: Source BETA. This will be good news for those of you that don't want to buy Counter-Strike: Condition Zero.

Hi. The current plan is to make the CS:S beta open to people who have an ATI coupon, probably at the same time that it's made available to those who own CZ.
