Hows does your CS Source run ?

Curious how everyones source is performing on their machines..

It seems when I look left to right it just feels slightly juddery/choppy.. not like VSYNC tear just like in quakeworld when the rate was too low.. tried at 1024 and 1280 etc with diff AA etc.. just doesnt feel as good as it should do.. not silky at all.

XP 2500 @ 2.3 ghz
1gb Corsair @ 215FSB
Radeon 9800pro 128mb overclocked
Cat 4.9's

curious how dudes with similar spec perform.

I play on a p4, 2.8, 2G ram and quadro FX 1100 card.. I had from 34-14 fps witch really sucks!! And that was at med settings 2x aa... Without the AA on I had almost 50, but you need the AA :(

works fine for me, if the server isnt too laggy..

40-50 fps in 1024*768, everything on high and 6x AA 16x AF, wich i think is pretty good after all :)

got a p4 2.66ghz, 1280mb pc2700 and a unclocked 9800pro

edit: updating to cataclyst 4.8 now, had like 4.6 before, shouting if theres any major difference :)

2000XP
768MB PC2100
XFX5900XT

running on high detail at 1240x1024 with no AA getting a steady 30-50fps, it's occaisonally juddery but in my case is usually caused by those of a high ping perversion straying into view :dozey:

On a side note I noticed the rates were set differently in the config as to my CS1.6 rates and I am getting some choke at times, but will play with these later when I can remember which one cures choke :dork:

Well.. I have a P4 1.6Ghz and I run on low.. and I get 20 fps.. constant!

Even in CS1.6 and CS:CZ I get 20 fps.. vsync off, everything is as it should be, I DONT FRIKKING KNOW WHAT TO DO :(

*dl's 4.9 beta*

What vid card you got??
and how much RAM?

I'm gonna have to play from the office (I wish I were back home), downloading right now. The pc is a P3 1GHZ with a Riva tnt2

Wish me luck ;)

my brothers pc is

P4 2,8ghz?
9700pro
1024mb
etc.

i play at 1024x1080 2xAA 4xAF

i have around 35-60 all the time but it gets laggy when a lot of shit is happening. i havent really looked at lowest and highest fps.

but soon i can play on my own pc again

p4 3,06 ghz
1024mb
x800xt :bounce:

so then it will run much better :E

edit2: 15fps lost in the stresstest when changing to 4.8, ofcourse it could be something other that makes it so low, but when i had 4.6 and got like 40 fps i hadnt rebooted my computer for like 2 days :S so i think i should get more fps now, but i dont :/

I'm getting 68fps with 4x AA and 8x AF - using Ati control panel (catalyst 4.8s). This is on a P4 2.8, 2GB RAM and 9800XT at 1024x768. If I use the in game AA and AF it drops to 62, and also certain parts go pink - interesting.... Without AA and AF I get 92 fps.

I'm really happy - certain places in Doom 3 I was getting 10fps....... thank god for Half Life 2. :)

Well that was fun... 1-4 fps on an empty server.

I have to go to a cybercafe

I am getting exactly the same, the choppiness, it's bloody annoying

Athlon XP 2500+/9800 Pro/768 MB RAM with 1280x1024 medium, and I get 50-80 FPS when I screw around alone, but playing online I never get much higher than 40 FPS, and on average it's about 25. Lowering the res/settings doesn't seem to really do that much either. :(

i got a 9600 Pro and get 40-60 with everything blasted up to full :)

there is something i don't get:

i was running the VST with net_graph 3 on and looked at the performance:
fps = 33
in = 51-53
out = 63-65

how can the fps be 33 when the average it gives me at the end is 54?

I get approx 70fps. 27.50 on the stress test. (for specs, see sig).

The choppiness I experience is due to my model rubbing on someone elses model...so I stop running, and then continue on my way.

hmmz ur model rubbing on someones elses model.........ok :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53GHz)
GF3 Ti200
512mb DDR

Pretty much the minimum requirements.. Was only getting ~20fps with low/med detail on everything, but for whatever reason it was reaaaally smooth (though I didn't have sound)..

I still kept at least a 2:1 k:d ratio tho, so I didn't mind!

yeah i once had an fps of 10 and it was smooth

Check out my hilarious-thread.. You'll see my problems there .:/

I was actually playing with a tech advisor from some university and he says 60fps doesn't look totally smooth (unlike in other games) because of the rate at which this particular game takes input from the user or something like that. I suppose they could patch it or something.. he said it's SOMETHING about that, I can't remember.
