CS:Source Is Fu#ked and I Need Some Help!!!!

I went and I played on this fu#kin stupid server that fu#ks with your rates and stuff and it totally f#ked my settings for source. So I said hey no problem. I'll just delete the local content and files and then reinstall. No dice. I still get this stupid bullshit were the players lag and don't move smoothly. I'm really getting pissed off as I've tried to reinstall twice with the same bullshit. How the hell do you fix this problem? I assume it would be a console command but I'm not sure which one. I know for a fact my rate is fine. Also I get lag when I run the game too and I never used to before. Please help me so that I don't esculate to grabbing an AK and blowing this piece of shit comp of mine to itty bitty pieces. Thanks in advanced.

Never mind. I figured it out myself. Aparently my little brother or someone changed my internet connection settings on steam. I was running at 28.8K instead of like 798k or w/e. Thanks for looking though.

It can be though, sometimes admin abusing c*nts like to slowhack and adjust people's rates to something ridiculous, but yeah as Blinkseh said, put ya config to read only as so nothing can overwrite it

It is there fault you dumbass! There stupid "optimized for maximum efficiency" thing did it. I'm sorry that I'm not as much of a computer nerd as some of you who think you are so superior. Thanks for all usefull replies and for the people that actually try to help you out instead of just saying your dumb for not knowing all the computer commands.

yeah...there are some power hungry admins too who like to mess around with config files just because they may not like you.
so the best way to deal with that? make the config files read-only.
they can't mess up the config file that way.

I know this may sound dumb but if you delete your config.cfg. file will VAC2 count that as hacking? I've had a lot of bullshit happen with my accountand the last thing I want is to be banned off secure servers. Also how do you change the file to read only and if you do this can you get banned for it? Thanks for the help.

No you won't get banned for either.
to change the file to read only, select it in file manager, right click, and click "properties". Then just tick the 'Set as Read-Only' box and press OK.
