With ladders just make sure all the bits are named right and that the ladder isnt fouled by brushes in any way, just for testing purposes pull the ladder and all the bits away from all geometry by at least one unit and try it in a test level. I had some trouble to start with but am going ok now.

btw any pics of the actual gameplay what the flag looks like etc etc.
