in UT 2K4... I see whats in the 1st pic... every one else on the server sees pic 2... WTF?? please help if u know whats going on

I think you're only changing your client-side model view... I don't think it's possible to have any other custom skins that people can actually see in the demo... Hell, I don't think it'd even be in the final game (did 2k3 have it?) because wouldn't people have to download it and everything?

i dunno if UT2K3 supported it.... but they would be tiny DLs... about 400 KBs...

o well... at least I can see it! :P :P :P :P

400kbs x 32 people with custom models, downloading from clients with erratic connections = trouble.

hell custom sprays in HL used to lag people and make em complain...
maybe if there was a dedicated server that indexed all the released models, that you downloaded from (to lessen strain on server and clients) then it might be slightly more feasable.

Forget being able to see it. I can't even install it.

Ahhh, so you can't see them online :D Oh well, at least I CAN. Muaahaha.

u can only see them yourself..otherwise people would use invisible skins n stuff like that...its clientside only ya know..and UT2k3 did not support it..i think no game does..

That'd be like downloading a weapon skin, and then everyone else would have to use the same one.

I'm surprised that unreal 2k4 lets you change player models. I mean, why not color all the skins bright pink to make aiming easier?

Tribes 2 did just that: custom skins everyone got to see. It was an option that was defaulted to off, but anyone with a decent computer usually enabled it. Don't ask me how they did it, but it was damn cool to whoop some ass in Rainbow-Sherbert armor.
