custom sound like radio in cs_italy

Ok in my map im making a nightclub, i want a loopable beat/track coming from the speakers in the club..

Any idea how long I can make the loop?...

in hl2 can I use mp3 format or just wav? any ideas?

I imagine you can make the loop as long as you wanted, within reason of course.

I'm pretty sure its been in a FAQ that HL2 will have some support for mp3.. Infact it would be weird if it didn't... So.. assuming that it can, would mean its quite capable of playing regular length mp3's of some sort. Which means your looping could be the length of a normal audio track. Course if your using someone elses music without permission then I think your limited to 3 seconds sample otherwise its a breach of copyright or something, I'm not too up on the music side of things sorry.

I think the breach is 10 seconds, it's like "sampling" their music or something to avoid copyright laws. If you play a bit of music by someone else over 10 secs without permission, you are breaching copyright and need to get licensing.
