Click here to read. The interview promised yesterday has appeared, in which Robin Walker is grilled on Episode One...[br]

...and reveals that the story will take a dramatic and unexpected turn: the G-Man is revealed to be Manhattan Project physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, transformed into a scientific Buddha when he was recruited by the US for teleportation experiments and achieved total enlightenment (as did Einstein, Newton and others - his fabled 'employers'). For the past 20 years he has been preparing to destroy the Combine, with humanity as his instrument, and in Episodes and later Half-Life 3, Gordon will go to Xen and blow open a gap between all worlds, uniting all the peoples of all the conquered universes to finally take war to the Combine Oppression.[br]

Actually, that's a lie. Still, the interview is no less exciting, and there's also a new screenshot below. Enjoy![br]

Lol, that was quick just emailed you with that a few minutes ago.

Interesting picture though, the interview question about why Episodic, seems to hint that there will still be a Half Life 3.

Ah yes, I remember Kleiner's voice actor saying something about a PA announcement.

Loving the subtle HDR on that picture. I just wish they would hurry and get it out the door already!

Best G-Man Theory Evar.

Ah man, Kleiner's using the public announcement system to broadcast from the Resistance's side- that's SO AWESOME!

Piccy looks sweet too- <3 HDR.

They could just work on a sequel to HL2 on the source engine... it wouldn't take them 6 years, would it?

Cool stuff. This episodic content format will be awesome. No more waiting 4 to 6 years for a sequel or follow-up. (it'll be more likely 1 episode a year)

Garry's MOD would stand out as the single most impressive MOD we've seen. Not to take anything away from the software Garry has built, but the specific aspect he's excelled at has been his approach to developing the MOD itself. There has been a trend of MOD teams since Counter-Strike's success to try and deliver what I think to be too broad of an experience in their first release, instead of releasing as fast as possible and course-correcting along the way. The strength of a MOD team revolves around their ability to iterate on a game over time, not in trying to compete with large game developers and publishers with full featured products.

So true.

Should we really trust the Vortigaunts, because we have a sneaking suspicion they're hatching their own plan to take over Earth...?
Oh shit, they're on to us D:

Robin Walker: The Vortigaunts will play a very important role in what happens in later episodes.
:D

Zooomj, looks like we'll eventually finally get closure on me being always right.

I misread this as CFG interviews Robin Walker..

.. I am sorely disappointed ;(

Episode One will not end with an all-encompassing conclusion, given that it is the first installment in a series, but there are some specific questions it will address. For example, "What happened to the Citadel at the end of Half-Life 2?" and "What happened to Breen, is he dead?" and "How does the G-Man factor into all of this?"

It sounds like we`ll finally find out what the deal is with G-Man at any rate if this means what I think it does. :naughty:

riomhair, you are NOT a vortigaunt. You are a HUMAN child.

I hear social services dealt with a lot of abuse cases of children adopted by Mr Friendly in the late 90s... he'd make the front page of the Mirror if it wasn't for the fact that he's been mysteriously absent since the early builds of Half-Life 1.

AAaaAAa. I read it and it sounded good but damn it was a lie! I cry i cry...

Well he didn't answer the TFC question :(
And he did say "most" of the time will be spent with Alyx :(

How come robin Walker answers the questions. What happened to Doug Lambardi? wasn't he PR? did he get fired or something? =p

amount the time they talk about alyx, I worry they might have downloaded the nude Alyx model for there own personal pleasure, and Gabe might have Alyx in Bikini, pictures in his office lol

Robin Walker is the director of Aftermath.

Oh Em Gee...I was getting excited reading that first blurb. Man, really had me going. Well, interesting read anyway.

its always about you being right, isn't it? :P
oh okay!
you're right

anyway that was an excellent interview and HLDM Source? not sure people will jump at that anymore...TFC would have obviously been a better choice to work on.

Oh man, that fake summary was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a fansite.

Very cool interview. Any news from Valve is the shit!

Nothing much, but that screenshot owns!

There's still people who love it.

Hands up here, I was also totally taken in by the Oppenhiemer story, if only because it was so totally left-field compared to all the other stories, that it would be believeable. It would be ace if that was the true story - or at least a using a fictional counterpart based on him. And he does look a lot like the Gman too!
