Well, Slash has been working on the player model for the British Solder, and he's looking for some crits.

1) Keep in mind, this is a WIP, we're looking for crits, not "i don't like it"
2) The equipment pouches and such will be balence out on each side
3) The straps for the rucksack will actually go over his shoulders
4) More detailed will be added in the long run
Triangle count: 3,258

And now, the images...

I don't like it.

J/K :)

Looks good, try putting a seam in the jacket on the bottom, where it would part in two.
The hands look a little skinny compared to the arm on the first shot. Make the top of his head, just below the helmet, a little skinnier, to me it just looks a little fat... I could be wrong though.
His nose is ugly, but it looks real I guess. So keep that if you want, other than that it looks good!

yeah, I was going to suggest that he model a shirt under the jacket, and have the jackes have a seem all the way up. He has the polies to play with (I told him to aim for ~5000)

edit: oh yeah, the strap for the googles was gonna be textured on, before anyone comments on that :)

His hands/arms are too long
The shirt doesnt fall down to his hands...it's against the laws of gravity
He needs bigger shoes...those arent army shoes
His eyes...well they need to be redone...they are too small and it looks like theyre pointing out the head...
Doesn't seems like that much plygons...where did they all go? even the head seems pretty decent...

keep it up

Don't get what you mena by this.....

but yeah, comments noted.

His helmt looks really fat. Maybe you should hollow it out so around the bottom is doesnt look really thick.

On the whole though i think its a great start, character modelling isnt easy at all, so great work :)

The eyes are well...dots. I know this is WIP but focus a wee bit more on the eyes, unless the goggles will be covering them of course. Also, the feet look blocky. Make them fatter and smoother and you should be fine. Nice work though.

Short_Fuse: It's a kevlar helmet, they're thick like that.
ray_MAN: yeah, the eyes will be seperate meshs from the face.... i'll make sure to pass that on.

Yes for some reason I look at the eyes a lot. Ever since AA:O 2.0. The devs used spheres for eyes and it looked freaky with big eyes and all.

I know. SF training was freaky as hell, cause it always seemed like whenever i did it the instuctor's eyes always rolled back to white for the whole time.

I think maybe you could 'round' the face a bit.... It's a great model though!

The joints on the arms and legs don't look very animator friendly and also the eyes are to close to the middle and need to be moved out. The chin could be a bit chunky as well since he is a solider and soliders tend not to be skinny.

Just a couple of things u could think about changing.

IchI I don't think he put the bines in yet. That makes a difference in animation. At least it does for me.

The hands and head proportions are pretty wacked out imo

It's ok, some proportions are off

main faults: arms are too long and too low and the mesh layout is going to make it a real pain to animate them. That last point is the big one imo.

The preportions don't look that bad, its just that the features are structured wrong. Obviasly its only a WIP and proberly will be sorted out.

yeah i't took me ^$%@ time to figure out how should shoulder joints look like
but I'm aware that this it just concept model keep working !!

newver updates....

The pistol handle in the holster is just temporary.

The arms still seem a little low and long. Here’s a quick comparison to the Character Studio biped and to da Vinci’s Man.
