Did you already have CZ, Are you going to get it just for the beta of CS:S or is the thought of getting CZ, even for the chance to play CS:S sooner, just to repulsive to contemplate.

Edit: I already own CZ and love it.

I love it even more now :naughty:

I will happily get CZ for the CS:S beta...

No saying if I'll play it or not lol.

I will probably buy it tomorrow, depending weither or not I am in a good mood after my finals. :)

:naughty: I currently own a pirated version of CS:CZ... if I cannot get things to work that'll enable me to receive the CS:S Beta, I will happily buy a copy of CS:CZ in order to get a CS:S Beta invite.

I don't think getting CZ will automatically get you in the CS:S beta.

more CZ updates on the way people,Truth for CZ online and another new map + 3 more DS missions OFFICAL :) seriouly ,De_truth_cz and CS_truth_cz are gonna blow people away, these new maps own online

Edit,if u own CZ u are in the CS-S beta,simple as that!

read the news post at the home page of the site skippy. Its straight from VALVe.

I'm not putting more money in Valve's pocket for a piece of shit game graphically (CZ), when I shelled out on a new ATI card with the promise of HL2 a year ago, which is now about 2/3'rds the price I paid.

I feel the exact same way, I also purchased a R9800 because I thought HL2 was coming out but I don't regret it :)

My problem is I don't want CZ but I don't want to miss out on the beta deal.

I was quite happy when I bought the game.
I was happy when they released the first patch
I was even happier when they released the patch fix!
Now what can I say......I've been wrong ALL my life......there IS a GOD
And LO his name was GABE and all did rejoice when he fed the 5000 with 5 blueberry muffins and 2 fishcakes :smoking:

No, I will not buy CZ. Not because I can't afford it but on principle. I think this is a lame attempt to wring $$$ out of their loyal fan-base.

i was gonna buy CZ ages ago but now i think ill get it sooner and rather then later ;)

Also, keep in mind with Valve's track record, they might push back the beta, or even change their minds and make it avaliable for all Steam users....

Is it too late to buy CSCZ? If i buy it now, do i definetly get to play the beta?

yes ... my undderstanding is people who own CZ are automaticlly entitiled to participate

To the guys who don't have CZ yet: Hold off on buying it for now. There's no reason to yet if you are just getting it for the CS Source beta, that's like 1-2 months away. For all we know, Valve could "delay" the beta at the last second and then decide "Well let's just let every CS owner play it", just so they could get a boost in CZ sales. WAIT until it is absolutely certain that the CS Source beta is coming, I'd say when they actually announce "it will be here next week", whenever that may be.

OK, thanks for the advice. I just want to make sure i'm not too late in buying it to play the beta. (i.e., if they have 5000 slots, or if anyone who buys it after july 30th isn't allowed to beta test)

Yeah, if they have some kind of limitation like that though, they will probably announce it beforehand. In the meantime though I'd say the wait a bit.

I don't know...

I recently got a credit card and I would like to buy something on the i'net with that!

It's really cool those cs: source vids but I heard alot of ppl saying cs: condition zero is pure crap and not worth even the download!

CZ is not pure crap..

New hostages/hostage AI.
New weapon models/skins.
New player models/skins.
New weapon sounds.
New sprites.
New maps.
Redone/restructured/higher geometry basic maps.
CZ exclusive updates (ie. grenade drops can be picked up).
Single player.
Single player (deleted scenes).
One of the best multiplayer bots available in any game.

Yup. The only people who say it sucks or that it's pure crap are those that (suprise, suprise) don't own it. It's like with any game/console system, if they don't have it, they say it sucks.

In fairness CZ is probably somewhat underwhelming to the hardcore players with the main attraction being for bots.
But for a player like me, not in any leagues, never been in a clan, have no desire to be in a clan, the bots are fantastic, a great way to practice or good to retreat to after a thorough thrashing by said hardcore players.

Since its release CZ has only gotten better. Interactive hosties, more official maps, droppable grenades, all good things (IMHO of course).

The deleted scenes were not bad but for me they just didn't feel like playing Counterstrike (although the new Truth and Chaos map was pretty damned good).

CS:S beta is extra whipped cream, chopped nuts and crumbled up cookie bits onto an already tasty snack.
Mmmmm, crumbled up cookie bits.

Also thanks to Chris_D for editing the poll :D

Yep the bots are amazing, I tried them on expert and I got schooled by some of them. I really wasn't expecting that :)

Guess what? I just re-orded and downloading cs: cz right now.

That was my first credit card transaction :)

I will grudgingly get CZ for the CS:S beta.

Damn Valve.. I love them. :cheese:

lol that is so true, I buy Microsot products but I sure as hell am not loyal to them.

I bought it for the CS:S Beta, and just to have something to do. The CZ campaign was mildly entertaining, but the Deleted Scenes made me want to shoot myself :p

I played the deleted scenes at a friends computer - it was some kind of boring :)

but now i really think about buying CZ just to play CS:S a littel while before the audience. In fact -there are so many CZ owners (the word is used in its originall meaning*G*) that almost everyone except me will play the beta :'(

I am SO weak .......

heh its funny cuz my friend hated CZ and gave me his cd key for free. LOL! Hes probly pissed at me now :/

I've brought it off Play.com for £12.99 bargain if you ask me.

And yes i did buy it for the beta.

I am one of those who have been happy with CZ from day one. And I continue to be happy with it. :)

Why buy CZ and get a beta when you can wait a few more weeks and get it full for free with HL2?

#1. Because you'll get to play it sooner.
#2. Because you can later say: "I played the beta you noob!"
#3. Because it's still unclear when HL2 will be released.
