This whole week I've had the worst case of strep throat I've ever had before. Bed-ridden for 2 days and insufficient in strength to do much else for 2 days after that. Finally got to the doctor Thursday and got some heavy duty anitibodies. Seems strep has been hitting my area hard lately since three people I know also have it, probably got it from me lol.

How do you tell if you have strep throat? My body is still very very weak, my joints are sore, and my throat is still bugging me even though my fever is currently down. i'm hoping it doesnt return for a third time tonight.

Go to the doctor and they will do a swab and run a 10 minute test to see if you have strep. Quick and easy. Take a look in the mirror and if your throat is swollen, red, and covered in pustoules *sp?* then you probably have strep. I've found gargling with Listerine or any other strong mouth wash helps with the throat.

How much does going to the doctor for something like that cost? I can't afford much.

The actual test I took wasn't very expensive *I'm 17 so my parents paid* but the medication I'm taking is pricey.

Meh, Strep can usually be fought off by the body. Advil, Listerine, and water did the trick for me really. I didn't get the medicene until the fever and headaches stopped, so I really didn't need it.

My main problem now, which is rearing itself more noticably, is the coughing. Its like, not a normal cough. It sort of creeps its way up onto me, and normally comes out very weak sounding, but it forces my body to lurch down and forward each time.

Sucks, because its like I 'have' to cough, or else I become short on breath, as weird as that sounds. No better way to describe it, I guess.

I just wish it'd all go away, damnit!

Ugh, that kind of coughing sucks, I remember bashing my head against the refrigerator when I coughed. It really sucks when you have the type of cough that makes your intestines or lower abdomen feel like its gonna bust when you do.

yeh, i agree with solaris, america sucks uhave to pay them to fix you, at least get medical insurance so you dont have to pay as much!

EDIT: And holy shit... i'm afraid to fall asleep right now. If there's anything i'm more scared of right now, its the thought that i'll die soon if I don't get help for this.
