So I've been slacking in terms of posting/viewing here recently, but I've managed to get to the end of Dante's Inferno on Hellish and now I'm completely stuck. After boggling my brain and injuring my thumbs for the past 2 days, I decided the only place left to turn for advice was you loving people!

I'm going to skip the usual and assume that at least one person here as played it and understands my frustration! I've gone through the entire game, maxing out Holy and destroying everything with my Holy Cross, however I've now reached Lucifer (second part) and it is actually impossible. I'm lucky if I get a third of his health down. I really don't know how much more of a beating my controller can take and I refuse to turn my 360 off as then I'd have to rage through the first part of the battle again!

I keep getting tempted to turn the difficulty down a notch and trying again, as everywhere I've read states that I've chosen probably the most difficult path in terms of skills and relics (I somehow missed a lot, when I thought I was filling the list reasonably well!). Anyway, if I turn it down, I'll feel like I've cheated myself, whereas I'll also get a small amount of satisfaction from finishing it anyway. I figured, I could crank it down a notch, finish it and then play back through on Hellish again, making better use of my Souls so that it's not as difficult!

I need advice! Help me! :(

Honestly, you'd be better off turning the difficulty down one notch. Been a while, but yeah management of souls is p. important and Lucifer is a massive pain in the ass. Hell, the entire game is a pain in the ass, actually made me quit, though I guess I should pick it up again.

What did you poor souls into?

The majority of my souls went into the cross combo, health, mana, health gained from killing enemies and the divine shield. It was hard enough getting to this point, so I guess there's some sense of achievement in that alone.

The hardest bit I've found about Lucifer on Hellish is the fact that he can pretty much 2-shot me. So after taking a heavy beating, I use a shield to regen health and go all out on him (which does next to nothing to his health) and then I repeat. Unfortunately I can only do that twice, though I've read that there's a relic which slowly regens mana, but it's pretty pointless finding that out now!

So I've just turned it down to Zealot and even that is stupidly challenging, but I'm assuming that's because of the path I chose/relics I have. Still, managed to get him to about half health on the first try. The way the damage you take scales between difficulties is insane.

---

All done! Was still quite a challenge and very close at times due to the fact that defeating Lucifer relies on you mostly using the Scythe!

Ending was good, but ...
I got a bit confused by the whole, "I did not die, but I did not live". Followed by the inevitable 'To be continued'.

Anyway, sorry for the rant! I have never, EVER gotten so frustrated over a game this badly before!

Thanks, but that's not the sort of advice I was after! I'm willing to give almost any game a try and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
