Considering that so many of the Gothernburg bands do sound really similar (In Flames included), I think Dark Tranquillity have a pretty different and unique sound from the rest of them. They're definitely less melodic-oriented, and a lot heavier on the guitars and drums; occasional blastbeats, for example.VictimOfScience said:If its that sound we are talking about, I just prefer In Flames. I can't get into many more bands at the moment, especially if they sound so similar.
Blastbeats? Yes. Electronic elements? That's where they lose me. In Flames has done way too much of that recently which is why I haven't bought an album since Reroute to Remain (which was weak anyway). I am all but out of my melodic death phase now though. Its crossover thrash for me now.SearanoX said:Not to mention the electronic elements here and there definitely add a unique flair.
