A demo for the jetpack game that is being developed by Airtight Studios(yes, the company Kim left Valve for) is out now for xbox and will be out tomorrow for the ps3. No demo is currently planned for the PC. The game will be released on Jan 19. It looks good, but it could easily be a flop. Then again, I hear the word jetpack and instantly buzz with excitement.

A new trailer has also been released:

haven't tried it yet but I didn't particularly find the look of it that interesting >_>

I'll give it a bash when the demo is released on ps store tomorrow

Memories of Rocketeer are still present in my mind.

The pre-order exclusive is a gold jetpack in case it wasn't already close enough to the Rocketeer. The gold jetpack has unlimited boost and barrel rolls.

It's ****ing fun. I think Airtight have done for third person shooters what they did for arcadey flight combat: made it rock hard like a boner and fun.

Peppy'd be proud.

Can always count on Willie to deliver a gratuitous sexual metaphor.

Highlight of the demo was when in the middle of a firefight I thought I'd activate the rocket system and propel myself forward LOL no I flew down a hall and got my corpse stuck in a wall from hitting it so hard. Jesus christ this game is awesome.

I'll give the demo a whirl tomorrow maybe, waiting for reviews of the game though

I think I know one of the members of the team who made this game. I remember him telling me about this several years ago. Looks pretty good.

I love Dark Void, but most importantly, I love you.

P.S. the demo made me pre-order it, I also can't wait to try the DS version of it which according to the trailer, was the original Dark Void(made for that special arcade cabinet that had dual screens), which was cancelled back in the 80s!

I enjoyed the demo thoroughly. It wasn't the best, but it was only a demo.

Also, did anyone else go to ground level and look at the trees? They look awful.

Yeah, I don't understand how so many devs manage to make UE3 look so bad. Although, I'm sure they figured people would be too busy flying around in a god damn jetpack and smashing their spines running into shit to pay attention to trees. Everything looks great when you're flying around and blowing shit up. Up close not so good.

played it was fun, but the enemies were lackluster when up close. i loved flying the most, on foot felt clunky a bit

I tried the demo - it felt like i was playing the Iron Man demo again.

I've been playing the demo more and it's really starting to grow on me. I changed some of the flight controls and have been getting used to it more. Just flying around is a blast. The only problem that I have is that when you're skimming across the surface of the water, you don't really cause waves to form. This is definitely a day one purchase for me.

I actually burrowed Iron Man from a friend and played through a few levels. That game was shit and in no way felt like this demo.

First getting the jetpack: "Fuck yeah I'm the Rocketeer where's my gum check out all the crazy shit I can do!"

Fighting the discs: "Oh. None of the cool shit I can do actually matters; in fact it's screwing me up more. All I really need to do is kinda hover in place and track-and-shoot. Dang."

Ground cover: "This is kinda cool, having different set things I can do here. It's nothing new but it's nice to have, and it's not cumbersome."

Ground combat: "Ehhhhhhhh..."

Those fucking watchers or whatever they were: "WHAT IS THIS THING GET AWAY FROM ME GODDAMN I THOUGHT I WAS ONLY GONNA BE FIGHTING ROBOTS."

The game is...

ugh...I'll be quiet, I'm starting to sound like a broken record.
