Hope this hasn't been posted yet. I searched and didn't find anything. Anyway, this game Darkest of Days lets you use modern and future weaponry in past wars and conflicts. Using an assault rifle against Ancient Roman soldiers? Looks fun to me! Seems to have a good sense of humor, too.

Just saw this a few hours ago as well, i was like where the **** this come from. Looks kickass!

Looks entertaining, not sure if it's GOTY quality but definitely something I'll check out...

Yay, in this game I get to reload for an entire minute, and clean a musket.

AI looks idiotic. The enemy was literally jumping into bullets.

It looks like another game where your eyes rotate 360 around your head. I'd like to see more First person games with a view that takes human head and body movement into account.

It still might be fun for a while because shooting people with guns is a pretty good idea for a game.

The premise is that you are a soldier fighting a war in your own time (whichever war that may be) and you're plucked from that war by a mysterious organization. The organization sends you backward and forward in time to fight in history's turning-point battles. In those battles, you are supposed to look after certain people and "fix" certain things that happened.

It's not trying to be revolutionary, it's just a clever idea for an FPS. Definitely not game of the year material as Ennui said, but it looks entertaining.

It's supposed to be funny.

I only picked on this game because I'm hungry. I think this kind of thing about every game. Enter jaded gamer.

Ah, I see where you're coming from. I'm hungry too.

It reminds me of that other game where you have 300 weapons to play with and takes place between 1900 to 200-

Forgot what the name is

Read about this almost two years ago and was trying to remember the name. Good to see this is still alive.

...striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home.

Tell me, shall the player have a guide on this journey? Perhaps someone only you can see and hear.

lol'd at weapon descriptions.

"Look at this bayonet"

It looks like one of those awesome B-Grade Games that makes no sense.

First game I'm looking forward to in a long time.

My friend/co-worker went to school with the guys who founded the company making this and who wrote the engine or something. He could have gone and worked with them, but he chose not to because they would have been a start up company with no experience. Bad choice lol.

The game looks like it will be pretty fun. I dont see a whole lot of replay value though, and the AI does seem pretty unintelligent.

While watching the trailer, I kept thinking I've seen the concept of blowing the crap out of ancient warriors with modern weapons somewhere before, and then it hit me. Time squad bitches! Hahahah

I just remembered something, isn't Raven's Singularity supposed to be something similar, except taking place only on an island?

Well you have the ability to rewind or fast forward time with a device on your wrist (rewinding a run down tanker with your abilities to what is was like before it was badly decayed so that you can explore it, making an enemy age into a pile of dust), but besides time being the main feature that's all I see in similarities.

Buck Tuddrussel approves of this product.

i have always dreamed of taking a gun back to the dark ages....now i can. yaaaaaaay

Cant complain with what I have seen so far. Looks like time-splitters but with more weapons and time periods.

Downloading even though it's probably not even going to work on my PC.

edit: Okay, can't even extract it.
This isn't some kind of encrypted file is it? Starting to get that idea just from the "encr" in the file name.

Where the hell did you even find the file?

edit 2: According to quite a few sites, the demo isn't out until tomorrow.
What you pasted is a leaked and encrypted file.

And it is officially out now.

This hour-long demo lets players experience unrivaled carnage in two time-frames and experience what it is like to use futuristic weapons in period settings.

Battle of Little Bighorn... Tannenberg... Antietam, these are just a few of humanity's darkest days. See what happens when you alter history while fighting against hundreds of enemies during some of man's greatest struggles in History!

My expectations are pretty low.
It seems like it'll be a relatively mindless shooter with a half-assed "story" tacked on.

That's exactly what I want, and am expecting. Painkiller + time travel = Darkest of Days.

Will check out the demo and report back with impressions.

Hey, if it's fun then alright.
I love turn-your-brain-off-and-just-blow-shit-up-and-kill-endless-hordes-of-enemies type games too.

This game doesn't make much sense, but from what I've seen in the trailer, it looks like it will be fun to play, and the weapon descriptions were humorous. I will definitely be keeping my eye on the development of this game, and I will happily check it out when it is released.

Runs worse than Crysis on identical settings, looks like a bad Half-Life mod and has crap gameplay that for the entire start of the first real level would only let me stand in one place, fire one shot, then have to reload. I repeated this four times and uninstalled. Awful.

Oh, and the Voice acting and dialogue are painful.
