Day of Defeat: Source Pre-loading Now

Pending its release on September 26th, you can now pre-load an encrypted version of Day of Defeat: Source so it is ready to play the very second it is released on Steam. Here's the press release from Doug Lombardi:

Day of Defeat: Source, the latest version of Valve's popular WWII online action game, is available now for pre-load and pre-purchase. Day of Defeat: Source leverages the Source engine's advanced features such as high-dynamic range lighting, advanced graphics, and realistic physics simulation.[br]Anyone may pre-load the game free of charge and decide to purchase at any time. Those who pre-purchase the game before it is release will save 10%. To pre-load, pre-purchase or just find out more, please visit www.steampowered.com.

So to get Steam pre-loaded, there should be a Steam news update waiting for you. Otherwise, click the pretty picture below and that will start the process for you:[br]

Alright! I'm glad I have the silver package, since now it's well worth the $60! Pre-loading is slow for me, but it went to 80% quite fast. I think it's my internet connection, though. It's a bit restrictive on my network.

It jumps to 80% quite fast because most of the files are already on your computer from Half-Life 2.
