DDR or SDR Ram?

Which ram is better?
I'm getting two sticks of 512 mbs of ram, and I'm wondering which one is better, since I don't know jack about this.

DDR is much faster than the older SD ram. The considerations are: which does your motherboard support, and what can you pay for?

Well, I'm not even sure what my motherboard is. Someone invested alot about 2 years ago into it.
Is there a way to find out what motherboard it is on windows? rather than having to open it up?

edit: and I already have 2 sticks in mind, either:
Apacer 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-2700 (two sticks of it)
or
Crucial 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-2100 (x2 as well)

Well, obviously those are both DDR sticks, so it again comes down to what your motherboard will use. If possible go for the faster 2700.

heh, I know, I was just wondering which (SDR or DDR) was better since I saw both of them on the website.
