This is an updated version my latest CS map. It takes place in a prison and is meant to feature good looks and interesting gameplay.

I worked on the textures some to create a more unified feel. I also added some ambient sounds and some more details. The gameplay has been tweaked a bit too, but the design was based on alot of work.

Looks very nice, but I can't see much due to the ultra-dark shadows.
 
are you serious? what ultra-dark shadows?!

It looks pretty good, I might check it out later...
 
Looks fairly nice to me, but that ramp in the 3rd picture kind of bugs me.
 
too dark and youre using brushes to create static_props :| , use static_props not brushes ;)
 
There's so much that I could crit on but I really don't have the time right now.

I'll just mention three things for now;
1. Texture tool. Use it. Size your textures. Look at your ****ing floor, you don't end a real floor right inbetween strengthening bars...
2. The ramp, as always. Make it stairs, or something like you see in lockdown.
3. Have you ever seen bars leading outside (At least from a modern day prison?)?. You don't do that. You have doors leading out into the open, not ****ing bars. Think about the heat you'll lose and the terrible drag you'll create inside.

Thanks alot for the comments. As far as using brushes instead of props, I dont model, all the props I used are included in the SDK, andything else I made in hammer.
I especially liked Dead-Inside's critisism. Your absolutly right. I concentrate more on the lighting then on textures, coming from a film background.
But what did you think about the layout? Thats what Im most concerned with.
