I NEARLY PASSED OUT IN EXITEMENT WHEN I FOUND OUT the most fun mod for HL EVER in my opinion is coming to HALF LIFE 2...... I now have an hl2 mod to drool over.... yes the time has come to rejoice for the few proud pvk fans :) :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

About PVKII


Server and Map controlled Fun Modes
- Toddler Mode - All players are children who each have one primitive weapon. (Sticks, stones, homemade bows, wooden swords, pee shooter, etc)
- Cartoon Mode - Cel-Shaded characters

NPCs
-Humans and animals roaming the map which can interect to the player's presence, cannot be killed, but react when shot. -- Or -- Can be killed, but respawn
-Some NPCs can be on a designated team and fight for that team
-Some NPCs are theifs and such who will attack the player and possible take such things as weapons, armor, etc.

Special Animations and Moves
-Taunting to other players
-Combos
-Shields which are held up as the player holds down second attack. When shield is held up and first attack is pressed, the shield bashes, stunning the enemy
-Sheathing
-Secret animations triggered in the 'console' (Typing "hammertime" causes the player to breakdance for a few seconds) Of course, the player is immobile during this time.

Dynamic Sounds
-Well-Placed ambient noises, some of which react to the character
-Cue points in the audio file for triggering (EX: Cricket Chirps looping until player comes close enough, the chirps can then slow to a stop until the player leaves.)

Chess Mode
-Large environmental chess boards in map. (Multiple Chess boards in each map)
-Character models converted into chess pieces.
-Same rules as chess, with possible bonuses?
-When one player takes another, a combo animation is used to "kill" the piece. From here, the other player's piece dies, its body dissappears as its ghost rises and is placed in a cage for restoration (bonuses, pawns reaching other side, etc.)
-GUI menu for things like choosing a board to play at, choose a piece to respawn, etc.

Classes
-We hope to have all classes the original contained, With three weapons for each class.

Pirates
Pirate Captain
Armor: Light
Speed: Medium
Appearance: Picture any pirate captain you've ever seen. With the Captain's Hat, Parrot, Peg Leg, Eye Patch, and of course, the hook.

-Weapons
-Hook and Parrot (primary attack sends out parrot to attack other players, secondary attack slashes with the hook)
-Blunderbuss (Shotgun-like pirate rifle - good for close ranged attacks, can only shoot so far.)
-Boarding Axe (Very effective against breakables like wood and ropes, does decent damages to other players.)
Fancy Lad
Armor: Extra Light
Speed: Medium/Fast
Appearance: Fancy Clothing, Tied back Hair, Try to picture the shirt Seinfeld was wearing when he had to dress like a fancy pirate.

-Weapons
-Dagger (Small Fancy Dagger that does little damage, but is quick)
-Flintlock Pistol (Not very accurate, decent damage from both close and far, only attacks so far.)
-Sniper Rifle (One-Shot Powder Rifle that can be aimed for better accuracy with the secondary attack.)
Skirmisher
Armor: Light
Speed: Fast
Appearance: Bandana, shorter than other pirates, shorts and a t-shirt

-Weapons
-Cutlass (Fast attack, mid damage cutlass)
-Dual Flintlocks (Less accurate than the single flintlock, but twice as much firing power. Primary attack fires one, secondary the other. Can be fired at the same time.)
-PowderKegs (Smaller than the originals, but can hold multiple ones, Small Barrels filled with powder with a fuse that can be lit and thrown.)
Vikings
Axe Viking
Armor: Medium
Speed: Medium
Appearance: Big fellow, wearing a lot of clothing and a Gjermundbu style helmet with spectacle guard.

-Weapons

-Two-Handed Axe (Slow attack, but deadly)
-Throwing Axes (Do good amounts of damage to the enemy, can be held for more power)
-Bearded Axe (Secondary attack toggles one-handed/two-handed use, onehanded is fast, but does less damage)
Spear Viking
Armor: Medium/Light
Speed: Fast
Appearance: Mid-Sized Viking with a RIveted Helmet with nose guard.

-Weapons
-Javelins (Can reach longer distances than axes and do heavier damage)
-Spear (Melee-Combat Spear has long reach and secondary attack charges the enemy)
-Sword/Shield (Shield can be used to defend when secondary is held and bash when secondary is held and primary is clicked)
Berserker Viking
Armor: Light
Speed: Medium/Fast
Appearance: No shirt, pants, and a small head band to keep hair out of eyes.

-Weapons
-Hammer (Large hammer with a medium/slow attack speed, but heavy damage)
-Axes (Handaxe in both hands, fast attack)
-Halberd (Long Reach, slow attack)
Knights
Man-at-Arms
Armor: Medium/Heavy
Speed: Medium
Appearance: Chain Mail, helmet and noble clothing

-Weapons
-Flail (Flail swung with primary attack, or wound up with secondary)
-Mace (Swung at enemy with high/medium attack damage - faster than flail)
-Pike (Pokes at enemy with medium damage, slow attack)
Bowman
Armor: Light
Speed: Fast
Appearance: Picture Robin Hood

-Weapons
-Longbow (Long ranged abilities, more power and distance when held down)
-Crossbow (Can be aimed for better accuracy with secondary, heavy damage)
-Short Sword (Small Sword used for hand-to-hand combat, can stab with secondary)
Heavy Knight
Armor: Heavy
Speed: Slow
Appearance: Full Suit of Armor

-Weapons
-Two-Handed Sword (Slow attack, but heavy damage. Secondary swings side-to-side)
-Sword/Shield (Large Shield, Medium Sword, shield can block and bash)
-War Hammer/Shield (One handed, more damage than sword, can pierce armor)

Extra Classes
One extra support class for each team. This class will be capable of healing the other team members, will have one weapon that does minor damage, and will have one item that, when out, gives a boost to the damage of him teammates within a certain radius. An example would be a viking horn/drums. (Still to be worked on)

Damage Types
There are to be different types of damage which do more or less damage to certain materials and armor. For instance, an arrow wouldn't do mush damage to a brick wall, but a powder keg could blow it apart. A spear may not hurt a heavy knight much, but it could take out a bowman easily. The concept of this feature needs to be worked on to keep things even for all teams.

Game Modes
Booty
Chests of treasure are placed strategically thorughout the map, and the teams gain one point for each chest in their base every 10 seconds
Booty Tag
Deathmatch gameplay, every man for himself, players gain 1 point for every 5 seconds the chest is in their possession
Territory
Teams are to hold a strategic position in the map to gain 1 point every 10 seconds for each player in the designated area. Some maps may include multiple areas, and the more held by a team, the faster points are gained
Pillage
Teams are to destroy designated objects for points. This is round-based.
Last man Standing
Deathmatch gameplay everyman for himself, the last man standing gets to choose between bonuses for the next round or points
Slay the Dragon
A large AI controlled dragon is placed in the map. This dragon can fly around and attack the players. The more damage you do to the dragon, the more points the team gets.
The Hunt
Animals will roam throughout the map, the player kills an animal and can pick it up to bring back to his base. There is a food meter, which must stay above the red, or the team loses. Last team standing wins. Only so much meat can be carried, the larger the animal, the more meat. The more players on a team, the faster the meter drains. (This can also be used for a desert map as a water-gathering game mode which works the same way)
Defend
Your base is under heavy siege from AI controlled units (Barbarians, animals, orcs, ninjas, whatever) And your objective is to defend the base at all costs. Attack waves will come fast, and you will have unlimited ammo. A unit is created and sent to attack your base for each player on your team, and the units spawn quickly. Once they reach a designated point controlled by the map maker, your team loses. Last team standing wins. This could work for a helms_deep map that everyone seems to like.

and i wanna through knives at people... shinobi style *shifty eyes* Oh well I have had many an hour of fun with pvk. I hope they improve all aspects of the game (mostly the models and textures). The maps from pvk were fun and creative, so I hope they maintain that.
