I do enjoy the show, although it's very silly.

Mixing the boxes around doesn't affect anything.

they have boxes....

in the boxes are numbers....

you remove boxes in groups at a time...

after each group the remaining numbers are totaled and averaged...

you can choose to walk away with this average...

or...

make an attempt to remove smaller numbers, thus increasing the average...

and getting you more money...

In the british version you remove boxes untill there are 2 left (including your own), then the banker makes an offer, and sometimes asks if you want to switch boxes with the other person. You can either accept his offer or gamble and win whatever is in your box.
