Defcon is available for preorder.
Bloodrayne, bloodrayne 2, and advent rising, have also been released on steam today.

For the time being only defcon can actually be [pre]purchased. The other three games look like they should be available for purchase, but are not actually purchaseable. (Is that even a word?) This does not look intentional, but rather looks like a technical error.

and now the purchasing works

Is defcon coming out boxed? i really ****ing want it but im not getting a credit card to buy it. rah.

ok defcon is going to be on steam anyway

but I'm confused - Bloodrayne, bloodrayne 2, and advent rising have been out years now?

So it's on offer at $9.95 via Steam, yet Introversion are selling it for £10, how can Valve be offering it cheaper than the developers themselves?

wow just checked the steam website... bloodrayne is coming to steam :D

Dunno, but getting it from the Developers nets you a spanking Hard Copy!

As well as the option to download it from them anyway :D

-EDIT- Pre-Ordered :D

No, that's Valve's digital download vs. Introversion's. If you want a boxed copy it's £12.50.

Even without the $5 off for preorder, Valve are selling the game cheaper than the dev's.

Wrong. If you preorder from introversion now you get the boxed copy for free. After release the box adds GBP 5 to the price.

Introversion and Valve are pretty cozy due to the success of darwinia on steam (darwinia was not doing too hot in direct sales, so steam was a pretty big break for them) so I think this has influenced the very nice price on steam. I do not expect many other retailers to follow suit.

The developer determines the price generally when something is sold on Steam. Generally it WILL be cheaper because it doesn't need to be packages+shipped anywhere.

Buying this. Darwinia was pure gold. Defcon looks like it it will follow suit.

Just preordered :D

Screenshots look amazing, and that one gameplay vid has such amazing atmosphere, the game looks so relaxing and yet represents the most chaotic and destructive event that could ever happen to Earth. I like it.

I bought Darwinia yesterday, played a bit. I'm finding it a bit frustrating, but I'll keep playing.

I got the manual off Steampowered, don't have a link right now but it's great, 26 pages or so, and it's filled with ton of 'useless' but related crap about nuclear survival and stuff, just like good gaming manuals used to be!:D
Pre-ordering the Steam vers later today me thinks.:)

It wasn't wrong at the time of writing.

Hmmm, pay full price for this, or pay $5 in the bargain bin for Superpower which is basically the same game with more detail

LOL! SuperPower sucks ass, if you want a geopolitical game(Which is what SuperPower tries to be), get Supreme Ruler 2010.:)
