Defrag problem

When I try to analyze or defrag my HD, it throws up this msg, and won't let me continue:

"Disk defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (C.

Please run Chkdsk /f."

I have run Chkdsk twice. However, it says that "f" parameters have not been specified. What should I do?

Try running chkdsk /f.
Start, run, enter cmd, and at the prompt, enter chkdsk /f, which checks the volume for errors.
I remember this problem, but not how to fix it...sorry. Try doing the above from safe mode.

Chkdsk always checks for errors, /f actually fixes them.

Problem solved; XP ran it when I started up this morning, all fine now.
