Are you a fan of British 80's electro-pop band Depeche Mode? If so you are in for a pleasent suprise as the band will be in Left 4 Dead 2. Eurogamer reports that Valve's Chet Faliszek had been in touch with a variety of bands and record labels in the interest of referencing them in the game. Currently we will see Rochelle sport a Depeche Mode t-shirt, but don't be suprised if the band let Valve use more than just their name on a piece of clothing.[br]This is not the first time that famous musicians have featured in the Left 4 Dead franchise, Faith No More's Mike Patton was involved in the first game, and who can forget the brilliance of The Orange Box Soundtrack.

Sounds interesting. I wish they used Jonathan Coulton's "Your Brains" somewhere in first Left 4 Dead. It's a catchy song.

Your own personal zombie jesus.
Someone to eat your prayers.
Someone who glares.

Maybe they'll make it so one of the L4D2 locations had a Depeche Mode concert on when the outbreak hit. Zombies hordes from the concert in t-shirts but taking extra fire damage from still being covered in alcohol/general extra damage from the jarate effect.

Never heard of them before but please don't pick the nerdy John Coulton in my opinion. If Valve really wants to do it right, they would get John Murphy on the phone. John Murphy is a composer who has composed many songs for various independent British films but he is best known for this song and other songs in the 28 Days Later series:

You completely missed the point. L4D had a lot of geek culture refences, so why you say no to Jonathan? 28 Days Later's OST sounds bit serious for a game like L4D.

Murphy did the Sunshine soundtrack too which is absolutely amazing. Dunno if he's really appropriate for L4D2 though...

Depeche Mode sounds great as an inclusion, I'd rather it were KMFDM though...

I think this is a good time to guess what song they would use, if they do indeed use one.
There are several ones they could use.

I personally think John The Revelator would go perfect with the theme of the game.

Never Let Me Down Again would also go well.

Personal Jesus would go well, but that's a very typical choice. They could make an awesome trailer with it.

It'll be hard to live up to this though-

Heh, the first thing that popped into my mind after reading this was the chorus to Enjoy the Silence. I mean it's basically about having a big gun in your hand and the futility of trying to talk zombies out of ripping you into shreds, right? Right?
