I'm currently thinking about what University I want to apply to and what for.

I do maths, furthermaths physics, critical thinking, general studies and am probably going to drop furthermaths and continue the rest to A2. I expect all A's, perhaps a B/C in Further maths.

I'm thinking of doing maths and/or physics.

Your missing Manchester from your list! Leeds was my second placement, rejected it for Manchester Uni. Make sure you go to the open days for the uni, it will influence your decision etc. Also look at the Guardian site for which uni is highly rated in your course/field.

I got accepted to Texas Tech a few weeks ago, which is a big improvement from the shithole that I went to last semester.

Heh, Texas Tech. That's where my mom went. It's an alright school...the campus is just pretty ugly, and Lubbock is the most boring place on Earth. (In my opinion anyway, I go there about 3 times a year to visit my grandparents)

The university I really want to go to is Carnegie Mellon, but my SAT math scores are about 100 points too low. (I was really nervous for some reason, and froze for about 10 minutes on the first Math section, and wasn't able to finish).

I'm currently looking for a good uni for illustration/product design, but alot of the websites are utter shite sometimes. Apparantly York has a leading graphic design department, but the website says nothing. :|

I live to close to Manchester, I want to get out of the north west.

The guardian site is rubbish, I use the times one.

It rated UCLAN as the 7th best for physics, it's absolutely shit, times doesnt have it in the top 20.

Yeah, both of my parents went there too. Lubbock is a pretty bland place, but the campus is actually not bad looking. Compared to UTEP, anyway. LOL

My SAT math scores were absolute shit. I might as well have not done half of the problems. But I scored 95th percentile in reading and 94th in writing, so it evened out.

Don't go to Leeds, I don't want you on my turf.

york st john - cock licking crap
Oooh, you at YSJ, what course do you do there?

I'm at the other uni in york - looked quite good when I was applying but it's going downhill fast. Some of the courses are good if you nerd it up enough though - sciences, maths. I'm currently in the process of royally ****ing up my second year exams.

A friend of mine does physics at Exeter. Apparently it's good.

UWIC - Welsh Uni, several campuses around Cardiff. I'm on the Sports focused one doing History and Politics

Welcome to join me :D

University Milwaukee Wisconsin

Campus smack dab in the youngest, most active part of Milwaukee

Great college for the arts technology and sociology. I can't wait.

I will be studying Journalism / Writing along with other Mass Communication mediums. Good thread idea by the way

I'm taking John Tyler Community College online right now. Going to the campus in fall, then may transfer to Longwood or VCU.

To describe it my campus right now.....my room.

I did Physics at Nottingham.

It's a good university and a good night out too.

Watch out for guncrime though. I never witnessed any crime during my time there, but my hopelessly drunk friend got mugged.

NEWPORT! dun dun dun NEWPORT! dun dun dun NEWPORT! dun dun dun

Go to Stirling. I.... never actually went to Uni, but my mate did and we had many a brilliant night.

Nice town, nice people, cute girls. Win.

Brick walls, mostly painted red. There's a floor, mainly wooden. Doors, windows. That kind of thing.

My alma mater is UC Berkeley, the best university West of the Mississippi. The only school that I'll admit better than Cal is Yale. Every other school pales in comparison.

Unlike other uni's that are good at only some things (*cough MIT cough*), Cal is good in basically everything: from English to Business, Engineering to Athletics. We have Pulitzers and Nobel Prize winners in all the major areas (Physics, Chem, Econ, English).

Only the Univ. of Virginia ties us or is #2 (has never surpassed us) in public universities. We have public school cost for a private school education. And we're right next to Apple, Pixar, Google, Yahoo!, Oracle, and the city of San Francisco.

I recommend anyone going to college in the West Coast or US in general to consider UC Berkeley.

Go Bears!

PS: Ok ok, it's the azn chicks. That's all there is. ^^ ;)

I'm at durham doing computer science, but one of my housemates does physics and a close friend does maths. Haven't heard huge complaints about the departments from either of them, which usually means they are pretty good, whereas i'm always bitching about mine :P Apparently in year 2 physics they give a practical to just piss about with liquid nitrogen with the aim of getting it out of your system.

Durham is 50% full of rich snobs tho.

anybody know of any good robotics schools besides Carnegie and MIT? I am looking for a good robotics program and I want as many schools as possible to apply to.

Definately look at Caltech, Georgia tech,
Stanford and Vanderbilt. I hear Michigan isnt bad either.

i'm doing film and television

you frigging york uni lot. i've had the pleasure of serving some of the worst customers ever at the gallery on a thursday

lol, real education.

Im in school for computer animation. None of that mathmatical, scientific crap for me.

Then again, i also have 60+ hours a week of class+classwork, new classes every month, and will be about 60 thousand dollars in debt when i get out. Hope the game industry pays well!

Durham is a good choice but Warwick, Imperial College and if you can Oxbridge is your best bet. But wth is critical thinking?

To do maths I do know that at least in Warwick 3 As are needed and I'm not sure if they wanted further maths with it. Leeds I found to be a really shit hole for me. I never got to see Queens but I hear it is a very good place to go.

Critical Thinking is part of the 'enrichment programe' or something that Sixth Forms introduce aswell as General Studies. I do Gen. Studies and that was pretty much a debate class on things like politics, art, war, etc. Alot of Uni's don't care about the grades you get for them, and they only count as an AS I think.
