I have recently taken it upon myself to play deus ex.
I'm now in chateau duclare, I have searched the whole freaking chateau and I can't seem to find a suspension vault.
Now I was in the room of beth duclare and behind her bed is a secret note that gives you the code to a suspension vault where something valuable supposedly is, only I can't seem to find it.

Now beneath you have a link to a walktrough, and I have allready found myself everthing that is stated in the walktrough, but they don't even mention the notepad, but in any case you the link is there to stir up your memories of the game.

Anyway I have also mad screenies of the notepad and what it says, but I can't seem to findt hem, can anyone tell me in which folder they are, tehy are not in the dx folder in any case.

I'm not sure exactly, haven't played for a long time, but did you find the computer system in the wine cellar?

You need to "use" a lamp on the wall, it opens a secret passage, I think.

Hope that helps.

yeh. i;m sorry if this isn't any help but i think its something to do with the wine celler.

i havn't played it in ages :(

Yes its in the wine cellar, get the key from behind the picture frame in Beths bedroom, open the cellar and turn the chandelier on the wall :)

Oh man Deus Ex. Best game of all time. Beat it right before hl2 came out for the 6-7th time.

Deus eX was amazingly good
I'd just never subject myself to the frustration and pain of playing it again

I love Deus ex. I've completed it hundreds of times and it never gets samey, and thats me taking the exact same story route as well. Nothing beats the atmosphere of Hong Kong/Versalife building. Nothing. Or UNATCO.

Man thats an awesome game. I want to go back and play it now if it weren't for my stupid homework :(

Wait guys, just to make sure. I allready did go to the wine cellar, there I pulled the chandelier, where you have that secret room and all, and sent a message to everett, and found all the secrets there, but I never found a suspension vault, that needed a code for it to open. Now can anyone say where dx stores it's screenies, so I can show you my own screenies.

Here is what the dude in gamefaq says:
You must find a way inside. Be aware that Nicolette will follow you, and
freak out if you blow stuff up, especially if you hit her.

You could get in the front doors, if you wanted (65/50), but it makes more
sense to go in the back door by bashing the boards with a crowbar or rod
and then just walking in. Plus, you'll have to escape out the back soon.
There is a multitool on the shelf in that first room, by the plant on your
left.

Make your way left, to the kitchen. On a shelf you'll find a multitool, and
you can use the dumb waiter to go up to Beth's room. 100 points for getting
in. Look behind the bed to get a vault code, 1784. On a table you can find
a mini-crossbow, darts, and flare darts. At a bookshelf you will find a
nanokey to Nicolette's room. Move the painting and get a reload mod,
basement key, a datacube with the computer login bduclare : nico_angel, and
100 credits.

Upstairs, behind a vase on a table, you can find the key to Beth's room.
In the bathroom is a nano key to nicolette's room and a medkit. Go to
Nicolette's room and get the lockpick on her nightstand. Go back down to
the basement and use the basement key. 150 points. Go left and get the
lockpick in a box here. Then go right and use the candelabra to open the
secret passage. 150 points. Get the SABOT shells in the box, and continue
down the passage until you find a set of stairs blocked by wood beams.

Break them, and go up the stairs. Go into the alcove with th 2 boxes.
Inside are a lockpick and a LAW. Hack the security terminal if you can,
and then go further down the passage and break those beams too. 250 points
for getting into the lab. Sack it for 2 bio cells, a multitool, an accuracy
mod, flare darts, darts, 2 flares, an aug cannister, and an aug upgrade
(the cannister is spy drone/aggressive defense system).

Use the computer login BDUCLARE : NICO_ANGEL. Send the signal.

Everett will tell you to go outside out the back way to the crypt. Only
problem is that it is now stocked with MJ12 commandoes. So have fun getting
there; it's a maze, but not too long.

On the way out, if you want, you can use a beam touching the floor in the
first bunker room to go up to a grate. From there, go left, grab a
lockpick, and head across the ledge. Break the glass to the lab room, and
then continue down the other ledge until you find the second lockpick. Be
careful not to fall...

Make your way to the back of the 'maze' (really, it's not that bad); just
keep heading west), and go down into the crypt (the door should now be
open). 150 points. Make your way through the sewer (it's a one-way path)
until you get an area transition. Make your way through this area to the
ladder up. You're now in a cul-de-sac of some kind. Use the crates to get
up into the window above you.

That vault code is what I'm talking about, but he doesn't say either where the vault is, I'm starting to think that it's in another place, but I don't remember readibg in the note, all it said that you can use the code in the suspension vault. Now I assumed it was in chateau duclare, becasue you found it behind beth's bed. :rolling: :rolling:

Maybe it's not in the mansion? Don't remember. What about the labyrinth behind the estate?

Isn't the suspension vault in exactly the same room as where you send the message from? The person sized pillar like thing with the keypad and a biomod canister inside?

I was thinking that. I'll have to play through it again.

Yep you're right, the first time i allredy hacked teh security terminal and open it, so there was no need to opn it with teh code, and i kept wondering where teh vault was + you got the fact that beth said that it was an important item that a lot of people wanted to have. So i assumed it was a key item to the plot. But anyways thnx for all your help, from everybody that posted.

You'll enjoy the next level, probably the most atmospheric in the game. Damn I love Deus Ex.

The Cathedral was great, though I don't think it was the most atmospheric.

I'm talking atmospheric in the tense way (because in terms of structure and believability Wan Chai Market obviously wins) ... the whole place was pretty creepy, and trying to get into it with all those sentry bots around was rather terrifying.

Ah, wondered. Your dam right in that sense, and then there was:

Gunthers threats whilst scaling the trelace onto the roof - ace.

Though i have invested mostly in lockpicking, tool, and hacking skills, and my most upgraded augs are cloak, silent walk. I do carry a fully loaded gep gun(upgraded by a couple reload mods) just in case everything goes wrong, + I have the resist bullets aug upgraded 3 times + the aug that upgrades all others when turned on, makes me walking battle tank, that can also turn himself invisible and sneak up on you. :naughty: :afro: :sniper: :smoking:

(edit: oh yeah and I have the energy sword)

After Hong Kong, i rarley ever use another weapon aside from the nano sword and GEP gun. Nano sword takes them down in one swoop, and GEP gun for bots and steel doors :D

All I ever used was the silenced pistol with a laser sight, larger clip et all (Master in pistol skills, of course) - turned it into a damn sniper rifle... I'm talking pinpoint precision.

Always useful for the missile base with the guards stalking the walkways. And Howard strong. I always have crap pistol skills :(

Hmm, Strong was tough to hit because he had the metal barriers that blocked a lot of the shots. I usually resorted to a wall of bullets with the assault rifle.

I tried for ages to get up. But alas, i failed. For such a small part as a villain, I had this odd urge to knock him into the missile shaft :/

I invest some of my skills in handguns and mino-bows, but to make for it I use alomost all the mods on my rifle, so now I have like 40 clipsize, very stable+ silenced rifle.
But don't you think the energy sword is infair, cause what is teh point in investing in lowtech skills, I mean with teh sword you kill almost anyone in 1 swing anyway, even without that skill. I mean, it's a little unfair to the people who invested in that.
