Dexter season 3

Oh. I doubt that, unless the kids all die too... Dexter wouldn't be that great if he had to spend all his time raising 3 kids because Rita died.

Nah,Rita won't die. There will probably be some complications with the birth. Rita may even come close to death. I think that's what the blood drop symbolized. In the end,all will be well.

I wonder who Dexter will be dealing in the next season? The new season will probably have him deal with smaller "projects" and focus more on the family side of things. Anyway,i'll be anxiously awaiting it. There's barely any good shows on TV anymore. Anyone know if Breaking Bad will be making a return?

I missed the poetic self-summarization of Dexter in the last season finale, what did he call himself? An idea transcended into life. But, the conversation with Dexter's (foster) dad made up for it.

All in all, a good season finale. And I hope the blood stain on Rita's dress amounts to something later.

Yeah, season 2 is supposed to be a full season with a dozen or so episodes (unlike the first one, which only has 7 because of the writers' strike). Airs in March I think. I can't wait, I love Breaking Bad... it's like Weeds, but less funny, more hardcore, and without a milf.

Recently finished season 3 (and a re-watch of the first two) so I'm super stoked for some more. Great trailer... strange format though with how quiet and informative it was, which is no problem for me. Been itching to see some signs of life of this series.

Sweet. Can't wait for Season 4, I feel like it's been forever since 3 ended.

That trailer looks ****ing amazing! **** I CAN'T WAIT

Season 4 promo. Pretty excited, as always.

The promo does sort of spoil who a new serial killer is (as far as the actor goes). Not anyone I would have guessed.

They said who it would be when the teaser poster came out in June, actually. I've said elsewhere that I thought Jimmy Smits would suck big time, and I could not have been more wrong, so am reserving judgment on John Lithgow until I watch the shows.

**** you, not everybody has Showtime.

I couldn't believe Jimmy Smits acted in star wars, he was so bad in the movies, he was an epic badass in Dexter.

You could say the same thing about Liam Neeson or Ewan McGregor or a few other people.

Spoiler Alert, the Star Wars movies sucked.

John. ****ing. Lithgow.

He should be in more movies/TV shows. Still haven't got around to watching the rest of Season 3 yet.

Title should be changed to just "Dexter" or someting.

But **** yeah im psyched as shit about the next season. Expect a major twist about the new serial killer though. Either he befriends Dexter or he's not even the real killer. Something.

Considering they show him strangling people in the trailer, I'm going to confidently say he goes on sprees of killing people.

Yeah I know. I was pretty much just saying previous twists. But boy do I expect a new one. And big.
Also those scenes of him strangeling, looks to be imagined, etc. Could just be the FBI agent explaining what he made up and/or belives happend.

Damn, Rizzo. Both of your theories were shot down in two posts. :)

Oh shut up :p All I want to say is that the plot has to have more then just,

"Ooh im serial killer who never got caught"

*Dexter kills him with his son in the front seat sleeping*

There will be plot twists damn it.

Like John Lithgow is dexters son from the future? Who was sent back in time to murder himself, thus creating a paradox likely to destroy the universe?

Season 1 spoilers, mostly because I forget.

I forget, was the stuff about Dexter's real father ever actually resolved? I know his adoptive father was having an affair with his biological mother, but Harry wasn't his real dad.

So I remember in Season 1, he goes to some guys house that's believed to be his real father, and we find that Dexter's brother had killed him. Harry knew Dexter's real father because he needed him to give blood or bone marrow or something when Dexter had an accident as a kid.

But with Dexter's real father alive, how could Harry adopt him? And why did the brother kill him, etc?

Well I think you're probably trying to read a little too much into it.

Basically, it's just plot devices. They don't really need to make sense. If Brian wanted to, he could have just walked up to Dexter and introduced himself instead of going through the super-elaborate Ice Truck Killer plan of bringing the 2 of them together. But that would have been a little boring. He could have just killed Debra, too, since he killed the father, but instead chose to let Dexter kill her as a bonding experience. As for "why" he killed the father, it was so Dexter would be notified as next of kin so he could find out more about his past, I'm sure. I'm sure Brian had some issues with the father for dumping him in institutions, as well.

As for the adoption, obviously Harry wasn't exactly a straight & narrow cop. I mean, he did teach Dexter how to kill people and get away with it, after all. With the mother being dead, he probably fudged some paperwork to make everyone think the father was dead, too, tho in that particular situation there probably weren't too many questions being asked about it anyway. With the mother being brutally murdered and a cop wanting to adopt the victim's son everyone involved would have helped grease it through, I'm sure. Camilla, for one, had already admitted to destroying his file. Plus, this was +30 years ago when paperwork was actually still paper instead of computerized.

-edit- As for the stuff with Dexter's real dad being resolved, I guess so. DNA confirmed that it was his father, and Brian killed him, so we at least know Harry wasn't his dad. Personally I thought that's where they were going with that, that Harry's affair had started before Dexter was born, which is why he chose to adopt him after she died, but again, DNA confirmed that wasn't the case.

Just over a month till the new season. CANNAE WAIT.

How nice of them to tie up every imaginable string and hand us a gift-wrapped clean slate for the next season. I felt the finale was lackluster but at least they resolved everything. I'll be interested to see where next season goes.
Deb has Dexter's biological mother's file on her desk. Might see more movement there.
