This show is ****ing awesome; forget shitty milked-to-death Lost. Friends have nagged me to death to watch it and have delayed it till now. I am only eight episodes into Season one and it has really picked up since the first few episodes. This is disturbing, but darkly brilliant. Greatest TV show out there? Without a doubt.

Any one else watched this? If you haven't, WATCH IT!

I though it was the cartoon dexter's lab :(

btw what happened to that cartoon? it was so awsome until it got screwed

It's better than a ****in cartoon.

Yeah, damn good show. It started out alright and built up to a great ending. Seeing the main character in this was weird, he played a very different role in Six Feet Under. That's the only other thing I ever saw him in so it was hard for me to jump between "gay funeral director" to "emotionless serial killer."

dexter labs is not just a cartoon, is one of the best cartoons ever

if you never saw it then you dont deserve to live

I've seen both and all i can say is id much rather watch dexter's lab.........and lost.

Bumping from the grave to concur that this is one of the best shows ever made.

Also, **** Dexter's Laboratory. You asshats could have looked into the topic, concluded it wasn't about the cartoon, and then been on your merry way, but no. There are twelve posts in this topic and eight are one/two sentence replies about the ****ing cartoon. Way to go.

My initial suggestion that came to mind was that you kill yourselves, but I think a vastly preferable alternative would be to watch the show and convert.

I quite like Dexter. It's not usually the type of show I watch, but it has a certain allure. Currently I can only watch it online though, which is a shame 'cuz half the links don't work :(

meh the cartoon is much better that any CSI clone that can be made

Have you seen the show? Because calling it a CSI clone makes you sound like an idiot, as it has almost nothing to do with that show besides the main characters occupation and that there is usually a murder.

This is NOT a CSI clone! It's about a surprisingly likable vigilante serial killer (who only kills bad guys) who also happens to be blood spatter analyst for the Miami PD. Thats the only comparison with CSI. And no he doesn't analyze, interview victims and suspects and basically do all the police work, like people in that sorry excuse for a show CSI.

This is a no holds barred, in your face, non TV 14, non censored, darkly humorous adult television series that maintains a break neck pace throughout its 12 episodes.

And it has the most subtly disturbing and violent credit sequence ever, especially regarding the context.

Go watch it now!!

Just finished watching the pilot episode, and it's an OK show, but calling it the best series out there is a bit much. Also why does the main character have to be a "good guy", it would've been better if he was actually a "traditional" serial killer that kills for the heck of it, not because they "deserve" it.

It's not the best show ever of course, but it does what it does brilliantly. And keep watching Remus. You'll see exactly "why" he kills, why he is a "good" guy. It only gets better. And gorier. Every loose is beautifully tied up by the end of the series.

Light Spoilers

The pilot doesn't do it justice. The show really starts kicking off three or four episodes into the season, and from there on it's just better and better.

Rarely have I seen an anti-hero done so well. Sure, you can consider him to be a good guy, if you want to. But the only difference between him and the killers he stalks is the nature of their victims. He is still a cold, methodical, twisted, and manipulative person, and watching him interact with a world he largely considers alien is one of the most interesting aspects of the series. He's a sociopath kept only in check by the code instilled in him by his foster father.

It helps that the supporting characters are also an enjoyable watch. Everybody's pretty grounded in reality, with few stereotypes and no typical witty retorts like in, say, CSI. Everybody's quite human, yet still unique. The animosity Dexter receives from Dokes is sometimes hilarious, and Dexter's interplay with the damaged Rita is touching, but also sometimes quite sad. Not just because of her previous troubles, but also because you can see Dexter's facade slowly growing untenable as their relationship grows, and his inhuman side struggles with increasing emotional intimacy.

Best show? No. But then I don't know what is. I can say, however, that it's one of the most well-crafted, refreshing, and darkly humorous shows I've seen in a long time.

This show gives me more creeps then the fact that Absinthe knows what I look like. Still it's great and deserves a watch from everyone.

I saw a trailer or something for this show awhile back, but it's not on here yet. One thing I was curious about is how gory the killin' gets, and how much you actually see. Me being kinda squeemish and all...

Well there's a whole lot of blood, especially since the main character is a blood spatter analyst.

If you want to watch it...

There's a lot of blood, but I don't think it ever crossed into gross-out territory. It's generally just scenes where blood is spattered everywhere, occasionally with a dead body. Although in some cases there are scenes with dismembered bodies and the like.

It hints at its gruesomeness rather than portraying it. Smart move IMO, as I would have hated it if it tried to live on gore.

So there's no out-and-out torture or dismemberment on screen? Blood and gore is no problem, I just find myself unable to watch anything too sadistic along those lines...

I'll watch out for it if they ever decide to air it over here anyway.

Just watched the first episode, can't say I like it a lot. Does it pick up in later eps? So far it's a show filled with creepy, unsympathetic characters.

Yeah, the show really picks up around 4 episodes in. I didn't think much of it when I saw the first few episodes. Its worth it.

The pilot's really what drew me in. I feel so...connected to his character, I don't know why.

So far (episode 3) he's too inhumane to be a character I can sympathize with. He's mostly just a creepy monster now. House is a better "inhuman" character to be honest.

Yeah, you have to see the clues. While he claims not to care about anything, even he finds himself questioning this throughout the series. You begin to see that he actually does care for things. He obviously loved his foster father and mother. And he cares for his foster sister Deb. He likes Rita's kids and is beginning to understand even he might love Rita.

Just finished watching the season. It really does pick up around episode 4 and overall I really liked it :)

I thought I read on Wikipedia that the second season would start May 21st, which would be great to fill up the gaps left by other series who all end this week. But unfortunately, I read it wrong and starts shooting May 21st, airing on September 30th :(
