Dick Cheney shoots someone while hunting.

I use a 1 guage. They're mostly used for taking down angry seamonsters, but I have it because I love to watch bears pop.

a 28 gauge? BAH!!!

Real men don't use shotguns with a gauge over 12. And 12 is pushing the limits of manliness. I personally only use 12 gauges for shaving purposes by blasting the hair off my chin. The manliest of men use -10 gauge for when they go out hunting mutant cyber bears or tanks.

You must be Chuck Norris. I'm confused, however, why Chuck Norris needs to ... *hears something*

*Chuck Norris round-house-kicks me so hard, his foot breaks the speed of light, goes back in time and kills Amelia Earhart, while she was crossing the Pacific Ocean*

The guy almost died... recent update. He had a heart attack because of pellet in or near his heart.

Um not really.

"Dr. David Blanchard, director of emergency services at the hospital, said Whittington, 78, suffered a "silent heart attack," meaning he did not exhibit any signs of a heart attack, the sweating, shoulder pain or crushing chest pain, but an EKG showed that he suffered an atrial fibrillation. The event occurred around 6:30 a.m. CST, the doctor said, and Whittington was immediately moved to the cardiac catheterization lab in the intensive care unit.

"The BB basically has lodged in a certain area that has caused inflammatory changes. When that occurs, there is irritability to the heart muscle ... it is basically like an electrical short circuit," Blanchard said, adding that it is "easily treated with medications" and is a nonsurgical condition."

The guy wouldn't have even known about it if the EKG hadn't shown an odd quirk. All he has to do is take pills to correct it.

Someone nees to make a Quail hunting flash game where you play as Cheney, and Whittington's head pops out once in a while. It would be like a modded whack-a-mole.

According to rumors, Cheney didn't disclose the incident immediately coz he had something - or rather: someone - to hide: his mistress.

hehe

"There may be a beer or two in there," (Armstrong) said, 'but remember not everyone in the party was shooting.'

"She later said that she (Armstrong) hadn't had anything to drink, so at least one of the other three must have been drinking - and the other three were shooting."

drinking, womanizing, adultery, shooting at live targets, an evangelical doctor talking about healing through god ...it's like something out of the bible or the Satyricon ..only with older, fatter, drunken right wingers in place of wicked sinners. Where do I sign up to become vp?

Wait, how can a 24gage shotgun penatrate a hunting jacket, a shirt and the skin from like 10 feet away. They won't even peirce the skin of a bird sometimes it just bounces off the skin.

Most likely explanation, he was drunk dropped his gun, and it discharged.

Guys, Cheney shot a rich lawyer, he was really trying to do us all a favor.

We should be sad the shot wasn't fatal.

Yes, because being a lawyer makes you less of a human.

Asshole.

You mean you didn't have to leave your soul as a deposit? I thought that was common practice.

Random fact - when a lawyer sues someone, there's a lawyer defending them.

It's part of the Lawyer Karma.

Dear Angry Lawyer,

You simply cannot call people assholes who make lawyer jokes. :|

Much love,

Well, this is why people shouldn't play with guns.

Even if I wasn't opposed to hunting birds that have just been released from cages 10 feet away from you, shooting someone else is surely a good enough reason to take these peoples guns away.

What fun do these people get shooting nearly 500 birds in an hour or so? They must just enjoy killing things.

From my cold, dead hands.

ugh please dont use quotes from that decrepit looney

The quote's been around long before Heston said it. I first saw it in one of my favorite movies before I heard him say it.

RED DAWN - At the very beginning of the movie there is a close up of a bumper sticker on the back of a Chevy that says, "You can have my gun when you pry it out of my cold, dead hands." The camera then pans to a Commie soldier doing just that to the gun's owner.

yes I saw that movie when it was released in theaters ...now after seeing that movie perhaps you can understand that faced with the occupation I think certain americans would engage in acts of terrorism

heston made that specific quote and is best known for it

There weren't any acts of terrorism shown from the Americans in Red Dawn. It was all portrayed from the communists.

Now in a real life situation I'm sure some might engage in terrorist acts, but organized response would target them alongside any occupation force, an unwarranted attack on US citizens would make them an immediate enemy in any situation like that.

of course, it was a propaganda piece ..one persons freedom fighter is another person's terrorist

oh and history has proven you wrong ..if the country descends into anarchy I have no doubt many americans will resort to violence against their countrymen for whatever reasons

One side is always wrong in that thinking, though. Goes by situation too, not saying that as a blanket 'well whoever I don't like is terrorists!'

For example, the North Vietnamese Army committed terrorist atrocities as they tried to unify Vietnam under communist rule. They were terrorists in this act.

However, when the Communist Vietnamese Army invaded Cambodia, they certainly were liberators and in the right to do so, no doubt about that. Far different situation than the communist unification.

Red Dawn had a few obscure anti-gun messages in it. FYI.

And also, Red Dawn's quite possibly one of the greatest movies ever.

Are you kidding? Because of gun registration the shop owner is killed and they find/kill every owner. Albeit a very extreme example that really wouldn't take place like that, it's in no way supporting an anti-gun agenda.

ya I have to agree here it's a nra wet dream

Oh no, its somewhere there. And I remember reading an interview with the director.

Plus, the movie wasn't your run-of-the-mill propaganda. They kill one of their own during the middle. Most of them die. One of the Russian officers even becomes disillusioned with it all. It's pretty dark for what would seem like a campy, B action movie.

I would like to see a country where that wouldnt happen....

Sorry but it was obviously bullshit.

John Milius, who directed Red Dawn, is a member of the Board of Directors of the NRA, an avid gun collector and a strong opponent of gun control laws.

He ratted them out.

edit: Funny trivia

Before filming began, production crews designed and built special combat vehicles in Newhall, California. Among their "fleet" were 15 armored 'Soviet' tanks, a sophisticated ZSU-24 anti-aircraft gun, and three helicopters. The movie's Soviet T-72 tank was such a precise replica that "while it was being carted around Los Angeles, two CIA agents followed it to the studio and wanted to know where it had come from" (Soldier Of Fortune Magazine).

Five of the 36 parachutists who took part in the invasion scene early in the film were wounded when high winds blew them as far as one mile off target. Parachutist Jim Fisher, wearing a Russian paratrooper uniform, landed in a tree and found himself calling out to local rescuers: "Don't shoot, Don't shoot! I am not a Russian soldier!"

Hunting Accidents happen, and that's what they are - accidents.

Get over it already.

MAIN PRESS PLANS ANOTHER WEEK OF CHENEY SHOOTING COVERAGE

http://www.drudgereport.com/flash2ch.htm

Good God. No wonder the general public is so appalled by the media nowadays. HELLO ****ING MORONS. MASSIVE MUDSLINE IN PHILIPPINES? MASSIVE BLACKOUTS IN THE NORTHEAST DUE TO HUGE STORMS? DOPING RAID ON AUSTRIAN OLYMPIC TEAM?

This is rediculous, they ignore all of the above to run with "OMFG CHENEY HUNTING ACCIDENT" still. It was great they rolled with it when it happened, when it was breaking news. There isn't even any new developments from it though. Perhaps if they guy died or something but no, absolutely nothing is new, and there's a TON of news that needs reporting, important stuff. I hate the mass media.

At least we don't have to sit through 2 weeks of "white girl syndrome."
